I’ve been working on a cocktail. I think I’ve finally perfected it. It’s so delicious I’ve decided to put it out into the universe so others can enjoy. I’m calling it Winter In Kyiv. 3 parts vodka 2 parts Baileys 1 part Frangelico 1 part Crème de Cocoa

@RailUsersIe Gone again apparently, sitting outside Bray the last 15 minutes. This train is about 100 minutes late, do we have any comeback?

@turnitup211off "Glam" may be a large category but it definitely doesn't include this album.

Friday frivolity. Ok, I know "glam" is a rather large category but what's your all-time fav glam-rock band? No question, I have to go with Roxy. BTW, the new Dolby Atmos surround mix of Avalon by Bob Clearmountain is a thing of beauty. Avalon : still an all-time top 10 LP for me.

@colm1762 @schmarlton @RailUsersIe The "new" PIS displays on the Dart spend 90% of the time displaying the Dart logo and nothing else. Then they briefly display the station name before switching to "Mind the Gap". Useful.

@schmarlton @RailUsersIe New platform screens in Austria give you train number, destination, planned time, actual time and detailed diagram showing you the layout of the train (so you can line up correctly on the platform) Best Irish Rail can produce is "Connolly 2mins"

@turnitup211off Agree about early Beck, so prolific and great. This one is hit and miss though, a lot of stoned farting about and only a few proper songs. Though obviously one of them was good enough to be covered by Johnny Cash.

IMO, early Beck is peak Beck. Mellow Gold. One Foot in the Grave. Odelay. Mutations. And the often forgotten Stereopathetic Soulmanure. Maybe bc it does not have much in common with Odelay & co. It's noisy, lo-fi, messy and sounds more like Sonic Youth but worth coming back to.

@BernardD66 @OlaLN @EamonRyan Would €14b even build one reactor? Sizewell C is going to cost £30b! We can't build a cycle lane in this country without someone launching a judicial review, good luck finding somewhere to build a nuclear power plant.

@OlaLN Maybe spending it to build four nuclear reactors?? Be smart, unlike @EamonRyan and his “green” ilk followers?? He and his cult party set have set this country back 30 years. Trams running on high carbon fossil fuels, yea, right. 🙄🙄🙄

Odysseas Vlachodimos is Newcastle United's most expensive No 1 ever, at a reported £20m. Except he's not their No 1. He's fourth choice, if that. So what is going on? @ChrisDHWaugh and @GeorgeCaulkin tell the inside story of the summer's strangest transfer.

@Toml1988 @____theo___ @Ireland_Votes Current govt on 89 on those numbers. FFG probably better off chatting up the SDs though for a bit of a cushion, if the SDs could be persuaded to actually get off the sidelines.

Just looked up my favourite ever Onion article and discovered it was published 20 years ago today. Still think of it every time I see a terrible political cartoon, which is roughly every time I see a political cartoon. Including today, hence me looking it up in the first place.

@IrishCycle @UrbanistTOC It seems to be down to whether there's a verge or some other barrier between the path and the road. The RSA is worried about cyclists coming off the path into head-on traffic. But it's also confusing and a lot of people cycle in the left regardless.

@UrbanistTOC It's a limited thing to a small number of route. Most two-way paths aren't like this. In this case, it seems at least partly because the junctions at both ends are still not what they will eventually will be like.
