@ShoelessBroJax @EdB_Ohio @greg_price11 @grok I'm not trying to "get you" and that is a rather egocentric perspective. I asked the question and most of the answers were hyper-partisan slop. I then asked Grok to gain additional clarity regarding facts.

It's worth recapping just how many state laws Virginia Democrats violated in order to actually do this referendum. They kept a special session open for two years, pushed it through with early voting already underway in last year's governor's race, and failed to publish it three months before an election. They wrote an extremely misleading ballot question, also in violation of the law, that claimed creating a 10D-1R map was a "temporary measure" to "restore fairness," in order to influence a particular result. And yet, a referendum passing by less than 5 points will allow them to create a 10D-1R map in a state that voted for Kamala by 6 points. If only Republicans would use the power they gain to ruthlessly govern instead of lecturing us about 'norms and procedures.'

@sixspacedeep @greg_price11 Good faith question from lifelong independent: why would another states action dictate what the other state does, especially when it disenfranchise half the population?

I'm going to start this post by saying something positive about ex-addicts of any kind. It is fantastic that you improved your life and beat your addiction. Honestly, great work, and I hope you continue winning against addiction. The rest of this post will not be as positive toward a very specific type of ex-addict. If you are offended by it, then it applies to you. If not, then it does not apply to you. One of the most irritating types of people to be around is the addict who projects all their weaknesses onto others who have self-control. The self-righteous teetotaler who drove his car through a bingo hall drunk. If he sees a friend drinking a cocktail, he will try to convince him he needs to go to AA. The ex-smoker who will explain to every human on earth that inhaling burning tobacco smoke probably is not the best thing for your lungs, as if it is some hidden secret. The ex-junkie who once stole his grandmother's pain pills and TV, now telling someone who takes 140 mg of MDMA a few times a year that they have a drug problem. The ex-ham planet who was eating 6000 calories a day and who will lecture someone normal-sized who occasionally wants a little bit of junk food while normally not eating like a hippopotamus. The ex-gambler who lost all of his family's money playing Plinko online, now judging a guy having a little fun in Vegas once a year. You people are some of the most annoying people on earth. The reason you are an addict is because you have no self-control. You are not able to moderate yourself and require total abstinence from your addictions. Not everyone is like that. That is an issue with you. It is best that you do not fall back into temptation. Just shut up about it when it's not necessary. Side note: Why do you keep detailed records of how long you have quit something? Most addicts I know can tell you how long they have been clean to the hour. Why are you keeping track? Are you planning on going back to your addiction so you can see how long you quit THIS time? Just live the rest of your life abstaining. Don't set a dumb landmark.

@aimeeterese I don't know how there could possibly be any millennial male that has not been falsely accused of rape at this point considering the sheer numbers of millennial females that have made false accusations.

I took my 11 year old to her checkup this morning and the nurse asked me to step out of the room for a moment. I politely declined and she said, "It's just for a moment." And I told her, "No thank you, given all the stories about children being abused my husband and I decided to never leave our children alone with anyone, even medical providers. Anything you need to do or say you can do with me in the room." She looked all miffed and just left, no idea what her plan was but she didn't feel the need to continue it with me present and that makes me even more suspicious?? When she left my daughter thanked me for not leaving, she's already shy about the doctor, her eyes got so wide when the lady asked me to leave.

I didn’t come on twitter to influence politics or kick start some kind of media career or pose as an “alpha male”. I came here to talk to people and make friends because at the end of the day I’m a lonely person. So please, for the love of God, show me your pussy.

@luismbat Okay. So, let’s assume we have no choice but to become mutliplanetary. Is it going to be a “hello everyone, we need to evacuate the earth and move to mars/moon” or is it going to be solely for those who can afford it?

In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth. That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon. Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites. Visible to the naked eye. Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory. A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation. That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

@AndrewKaufmanMD Please cite a source for the claim that colonoscopies provide no reduction in colorectal cancer mortality.

@sixspacedeep It’s actually 0.8% perforation rate and there’s no reduction in colon cancer mortality or all cause mortality from colonoscopy screening. So even one death from a colonoscopy is unacceptable.

Let’s pause and think about what actually happens during a colonoscopy. You’re sedated. A flexible tube with a small camera is inserted into the colon so physicians can examine the lining and remove abnormal growths at the discretion of the doctor. That lesion may become cancerous in 15-20 years or it may never become cancer. In the meantime, poking a little too hard with the instruments can make a hole, leaking fecal matter into your abdominal cavity. So you could end up with emergency surgery for a possible lesion that could possibly become cancerous someday. Now, instead of reacting emotionally or projecting the program you’ve been given, step back and think logically. Does this sound like a good idea? When a procedure can lead to death or permanent damage, don’t you think it’s time to rethink our approach?
