FED UP/VOTE RED
FED UP/VOTE RED@Rockydeplorable·
I always found this way of thinking puzzling. I mean, no matter how much money they spend it comes down to your vote, who do you want? Their pushing Byron Donald's right now for the state of Florida, do you think because he has tons of money and runs ads that I'm going to vote for him, hell no!! I'm going to vote for who I want. If money can buy your vote that's not shame on the GOP, that's shame on you.

The Thomas Massie primary is truly insane. We are looking at the most expensive U.S. House primary in history, with spending pushing toward $35 million. Massie's opponent, Ed Gallrein, has raised just $2 million on his own. The rest of the money, over $14 million, is coming from outside Super PACs who desperately want Massie gone. On top of that, Pete Hegseth is being deployed to Kentucky to campaign against him. Stephen Miller & Con Inc. have been on massive Twitter tirades attacking him. And there was a highly coordinated smear campaign of unfounded allegations launched this week by Con Inc. influencers. When the establishment is willing to spend $35M+ and go to these lengths to take one man down, it really makes you wonder why. Whether you like Massie or not, this election will determine whether or not we as voters actually have a voice anymore. If outside special-interest money can successfully buy a seat and sway an election like this, we have a serious, serious problem.

🚨 🇺🇸UNACCEPTABLE: Orlín Hernandez Reyes was 2 years old. He was a US citizen. He was beaten to death in Florida last month. His mother Wendy is in Honduras. ICE deported her in January. She was a day laborer laying concrete. Her car got pulled over in Alabama. The local sheriff handed her to ICE under the federal 287(g) program. She begged to take Orlín with her. She says ICE refused. ICE says she was offered the option and abandoned him. Wendy says she asked repeatedly. The uncle she was forced to leave Orlín with had a documented history of beating his own children with cords and wires. He’s been charged with felony murder. The medical examiner found burns, multiple broken ribs, a transected pancreas, and evidence of repeated blows over a month. ICE Director Todd Lyons issued a press release calling Wendy a mother who “abandoned” her son to “a violent murderer.” A Florida activist told reporters she knew of six children left behind in a single week after their parents were deported.

The Republican supermajority in the AL legislature has demonstrated time and time again that they only care about absolute power. This deeply disturbing footage shot yesterday by State Sen. Merika Coleman proved it once and for all.

Chaos in Alabama: Republican State Senators rammed through a bill to advance redistricting while tornado sirens blared, the chamber was being evacuated, and the livestream went dark. When this is how they pass it – that tells you everything you need to know.

Republican leaders in Montgomery wasted $400,00 of taxpayer money on a special session to give themselves more power. They haven’t done anything to make our lives better. It’s why so many Alabamians want change and will be sending them a message: Change is coming! Vote May 19th.

Sixty one years ago brave foot soldiers crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in a peaceful demonstration to attain voting rights, only to be met by state troopers with billy clubs. After a great event with folks in Selma this morning we stopped by the bridge to remind folks that Alabama is still ground zero for voting rights. We hope you join us in Montgomery tomorrow for the All Roads Lead to the South rally at the State Capitol at 1pm and then make your voices heard by voting on Tuesday.

A throwback to late January when Edie came calling with tiny Enid, her fifth calf, just a few days old. Edie came to us in 1999, herself only a few months old, after falling into a well and being abandoned by her family at first light. There was a long stretch when we weren't sure if she had it in her to fight for life – grief-stricken, bruised, refusing her milk. She came through it slowly, with patience from her Keepers and the company of older orphans who refused to give up on her. She is 27 now, and a matriarch in Tsavo. A mother of five – Ella, Eden, Eco, Enzo, and now Enid, all living together in the wild. When you adopt or donate, this is what it builds toward. Not just rescue, but a life that goes on to make more life. Become a part of an orphan's story from the very start by adopting: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans
