@mattvanswol If it means less dangerous traffic in our neighborhoods from gig-economy people nearly ramming our kids the trade-offs seem worth it.

I can confirm that Walmart is now using drones to deliver items directly to front yards here in North Carolina. Currently they are only available with certain Walmart locations and you need to live within 6-8 miles a store that offers drone delivery. The order has to be 2.1 lbs or less. Pretty wild stuff...

@ziawoofy @j00ny369T Bullshit (no offense). I turn off my incandescents because I know they don’t last as long, so I end up using as much electricity as if I were burning LEDs. Aside from cost (not always the best optimizer) very little pros of LEDs compared to real bulbs.

@MelonieMac Christians are way too obsessed with the afterlife. Be a good a person. "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." - Micah 6:8

You don't go to heaven because you are a good person. No one is good but God. You can only go to heaven if you repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I bought an 85" Sony Bravia from @BestBuy on March 1st. Delivery took 12 days. Now mounting has been delayed another week and just got cancelled again via email. I've been lied to and given the runaround by at least 5 different employees. A @BestBuySupport agent on X even told me to wait until he gets back from vacation to 'fix' it. I spoke with someone from 'corporate' this morning who told me she has to investigate and will possibly get back to me tomorrow. @BestBuy doesn't seem to care and refuses to actually mount the TV. @BestBuySupport help? This is unacceptable for a big purchase. Here's a picture of the TV in the box sitting in my living room.

@johncwright2001 First, the word "God" needs to be defined to make this a meaningful question. Personally, i was born religious, converted to atheism, studied science and philosophy and realize the issue of consciousness had to be addressed. Now, I believe in the intelligent "One".

Nerd Deep Housecleaning Update: I found one of my MOST IMPORTANT POSSESSIONS. About 20 years ago, I had some sort of software problem. To fix it, I needed some sort of a file. It contains a key OS file or authentication code or game component or something. It was so vitally important than I copied it onto a floppy and labeled it "In Case of Emergency ..." and put it in a drawer. Neglecting, of course, to write exactly what was on it, because it was SO IMPORTANT I assumed I would never forget. I found the disk 10 years later and had absolutely no recollection of what vital file was on it. But I can never, ever, ever get rid of it! Because who knows ...

The SAVE America Act doesn’t “Save” America. And this isn’t about voter ID. This bill requires everyone to re-register to vote in person and your driver’s license, REAL ID, or military ID aren’t even good enough. Imagine all of our seniors who don’t have valid passports and haven’t seen their birth certificates in decades? What about them? How hard will it be for them to register? And how do they get a passport if they can’t find their birth certificates? And what about the cost? If this becomes law, it will disenfranchise many Americans.

@baghdadguy @DataRepublican @CynicalPublius The military doesn’t go to the citizens to vote on a military action. But as insane as that would be, the civilian authorities are doing exactly that in playing the role generals should play.

You’re either forgetting or just not mentioning how our structure is constructed – that the military will report to civilian authorities. The problem is the civilian educators take that to the very limit. And they won’t let anything else get in that way and they will remind you repeatedly that the military must bound to the civilian. That’s how it is framed in the constitution where the president is the supreme Commander, as is the secretary of defense, a civilian over all of the military.

My American Greatness article on the War Colleges sure has upset the status quo. Their primary argument against what I wrote is that I am somehow advocating for revamped curriculums that focus on the tactical level of war while deemphasizing the strategic level of war. That's a weak strawman and a lie. The purpose of the War Colleges is and remains to train our senior military leaders for service at the highest strategic levels. In fact, one of my more obsessed critics sees the broad problem the same way I do: ". . . [we] have produced a highly tactically competent joint force that struggles to link tactical actions to achievement of strategic objectives." I could not agree more with what that particularly unhinged author wrote in that passage. But the REASON for this is that the education on how to achieve strategic objectives is filtered through a prism of War Colleges that are wannabe civilian institutions. OF COURSE the War Colleges must feature all of the DIME-FIL at appropriate levels, and they must produce leaders who can perform in a dynamic environment of global strategy. But that cannot happen when the woke priorities of civilian universities and the likes of non-warrior instructors like Tom Nichols are so prevalent. When you read the mission statements of the War Colleges and the underlying statutory authority, all of that sounds right. The problem is that we have let the worst inclinations of civilian universities invade the JPME, and that fact alone is preventing us from achieving those mission statements and fulfilling the intent of those statutes.
