“Does the Constitution actually require a referendum for the changes being proposed? A careful reading of the Constitution of Zimbabwe (2013) suggests the answer is no. Section 328 is not a vague guideline. It is the Constitution’s procedural backbone for amendments. It sets out a two-track system. First, there are standard amendments. These can be passed by Parliament, provided there is a two-thirds majority in both houses and a 90-day period of public notice. This is not a loophole or a shortcut. It is the default mechanism deliberately built into the Constitution”#CAB3 iol.co.za/sundayindepend…

THE ongoing debate around Constitutional Amendment Number 3 is a sovereign matter that must be determined by the Zimbabwean people, Deputy Chief Secretary for Presidential Communications, Mr George Charamba, has said. f.mtr.cool/keibpyysfv

I have just finished reading the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission’s analysis of Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3, and I must say it reads like opposition propaganda, not objective legal assessment. The analysis repeatedly cites foreign NGOs and international instruments as if Zimbabwe’s own Constitution were not enough, revealing a troubling deference to external agendas over our national sovereignty. This Bill strengthens our democracy by reducing disruptive election cycles, consolidating voter registration under the Registrar-General for efficiency, and introducing a parliamentary presidential selection model that builds consensus over populism. Allowing the President to appoint expert senators improves governance, while merging the Gender Commission into the ZHRC avoids duplication without diminishing women’s rights. Judicial appointments remain consultative, the Defence Forces’ mandate is merely clarified, and restoring traditional leaders’ political rights simply treats them as equal citizens - any code of conduct will be set by Parliament. Public hearings across the country have shown overwhelming support from ordinary Zimbabweans who want stability and development over endless opposition complaints. This Bill is lawful, necessary, and fully aligned with the 2013 Constitution. Parliament should pass it without hesitation.

Those who are opposing the bill either: 1.lack knowledge of the contents of the bill, or 2.benefit from the suffering of the masses and the struggles of our economy.

@NewsDay_Zim @zhrc365 I personally miss @JessieFMajome in parliament. She was such a breathe of fresh air. Unfortunately she was replaced by someone alleged (by another MP) to be Nelson Chamisa's girlfriend.

These were not just names in a history book. These were leaders who paid the ultimate price—their very heads taken to Britain as trophies—for one reason: they dared to resist colonial seizure of their land. That was politics. And in our tradition, chiefs have always been politics—governing, protecting, and leading their people. So where did this alien idea come from that a people's leader should stand apart from the politics that shape their survival? Here are four who refused to stand apart: 1. Chief Chingaira (Makoni) – Chief 2. Chief Chinengundu Mashayamombe – Chief 3. Mapondera – Military leader 4. Mashonganyika – Resistance leader #CAB3

Dear Zimbabweans, and its leaders accross opposition politics This is how Kenya responded to attempts by Ruto to rap the constitution. No press confrences, no political leader leading, no attending fake consultations. Just ordinary people. Let's do this. I am ready. Are you?
