@roseannesstrap @Aziz_elzhfy What is it about waffle house and throwing hands??! I am genuinely asking😭😭😭😭

@JinStim @JonyTony93245 @TheNotoriousHRT the US government makes it very expensive and onerous to lose citizenship because US citizens owe taxes on their income no matter what country it was earned in
English

@JinStim @JonyTony93245 @TheNotoriousHRT the law is that you have to do so with the explicit "intention of relinquishing US citizenship". Boris Johnson was already Foreign Secretary before he renounced his US citizenship, and he still had to go through a formal application process before it was removed

could the Pope actually run, since he's an American, or does being the Pope trigger some law preventing that. I'd vote for Pope president

I’ve been afraid of this: he’s running
English

@RedMeansGo33 @ChristopherHale well, the military can't actually fire a bishop, can they? only the Pope can do that, and the Pope's hardly about to fire the guy for following his own teachings
English

@ChristopherHale Well looks like they're going to fire him pretty soon and bring in an archbishop who's more on board with death and destruction.
English

NEW: In a remarkable interview set to air on CBS Easter morning, the conservative archbishop who leads Catholics serving in the U.S. military says the Trump-Vance White House's war against Iran is impermissible under Catholic teaching.
Asked to respond to Pete Hegseth's claims that God is guiding the military effort, Archbishop Broglio said the war is not “sponsored by the Lord.” substack.com/home/post/p-19…

@brendan_fo94078 @alan__s66 @EndWokeness not in this case, because the underlying question is the meaning of the phrase "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" in the 14th Amendment. we've established that a person can be subject to the jurisdiction of the country they're in, even if they're not otherwise a citizen

@brianrobtsmith @crawlings13 materialism isn't a spiritual belief. what do you think the word 'spiritual' even means?
English

We’re deeply spiritual creatures. Just because some of us stop believing there is an author to our existence doesn’t mean we stop believing in other reasons for our existence (and treating as “other” those who disagree).
For example, the Russia Communists had pretty strong spiritual beliefs.
English

@brianrobtsmith @crawlings13 what do you mean? it's perfectly possible to just not be any religion
English

@crawlings13 If they’re not Christian, then they’re something else. Important to name whatever that is
English

@The_Real_Solyad @alexbkane they've been using AI to do a lot of their target selection, maybe the AI made a mistake. maybe they had bad intelligence and didn't know it was a school. and, yeah, maybe they did know it was a school and didn't care. what makes you so sure you can rule any of those out?
English

@stuntedtrees @alexbkane Yea they targeted the school.
Fuck off
English

A New York Times investigation indicates that it was a US strike on an Iranian school that killed 175 people, mostly children. nytimes.com/2026/03/05/wor…
English

@The_Real_Solyad @alexbkane who said anything about it flying off course? like you said, it’s a precision munition, so the most likely conclusion is it hit exactly where it was targeted, the school
English

So let me get this straight, Israel and the U.S. can fire a precision munition through the 4x4 window of a building from 2000 miles away; HOWEVER, one of those precision munitions is going to be fly off course and hit a building full of civilians.
Is that correct?
To say that claim strains credulity is a massive understatement.

@PrinceOfGoodT @grok @BluBloodMonster @USArmy @POTUS warrant officers are equivalent to JCOs in precedence, but have different roles. in the US military, NCOs who focus on unit leadership advance to become more senior NCOs (the US has 6 grades of NCO), while WOs are mostly technical experts, including aviators
English

@grok @BluBloodMonster @USArmy @POTUS Interesting. So JCO equivalents fly heptrs. I thought only offrs did. Anyhow good show. In India he would have rated a MVC max probably a VrC.

@georrge72483816 @loganb @BharatRamamurti @rooseveltinst @amprog every country where a majority of people grow their own food is in extreme poverty. being a subsistence farmer is the most miserable life possible. the worst slums in the world are full of tens of millions of people who would still rather live there than be subsistence farmers
English

@loganb @BharatRamamurti @rooseveltinst @amprog these are the wrong questions to be asking. the real questions are 'how much would prices be if the majority of people grew their own food?' and 'why are people kept from owning their own land?' and 'why does the kroger ceo earn so much?'

English

As of today, two major left-leaning think tanks -- @rooseveltinst (pictured below on the right) and @amprog (pictured on the left) -- have called for price caps on a basic basket of groceries, inspired by Mexico's success with a similar approach. 1/

@Patriot__au @EVCurveFuturist LFP batteries have a very low fire risk because lithium iron phosphate isn't combustible and isn't capable of the thermal runaway reactions that make other lithium ion battery chemistries so flammable
English

@EVCurveFuturist If that battery ever catches fire there is only one place its going and that is the bottom of the ocean. And lets not forget, none of this crap can even be built without fossil fuels.

China’s 10,000-ton all-electric containership begun sea trials — #bettrification will hit short-sea shipping fast: massive fuel savings, dramatically lower maintenance, battery swapping instead of bunkering, quieter ports, cleaner air. Diesel feeders won’t compete.⚡🚢
This is a commercial feeder, not a demo.
• ~10,000-ton vessel
• 740 TEU capacity
• ~128 m length
• 10 containerised battery packs = ~19 MWh total
• Likely LFP chemistry (safety, cycle life, cost)
• Shore charging or rapid battery swapping
• 2 × 875 kW permanent-magnet propulsion motors
• Max speed ~11.5 knots
Based on battery size, propulsion power & realistic operating speeds, estimated range is ~280–370 km per charge — ideal for coastal, river & port-to-port routes.
Why this sector bettrifies fast:
Fuel costs collapse. Maintenance collapses. Automation becomes trivial. Ports electrify. Diesel economics break.
Short-sea shipping is the next domino.
