Don’t know where that narrative has come from. There are no last minute additions. This is mostly a trust gap between IAF and HAL. IAF feels that if it accepts delivery with some capabilities missing, past precedent shows HAL will drag feet on bridging that gap. HAL feels major milestones have been achieved and substantive performance shown so they can be given some more leeway. This is NOT the major fight everyone thinks it is. Even the CAS’ criticism of HAL was followed by subsequent praise for its contribution during Sindoor.

If your CMD has given five different timelines in the last six months, and every single one has been breached, then serious introspection is needed. What many of you are talking about regarding Lockheed Martin and the United States Air Force does not apply here. HAL is not Lockheed in terms of production track record, and the Indian Air Force does not enjoy the same operational flexibility and depth of capability as the United States Air Force, where even inducting an F-35 temporarily without a fully mature radar suite does not fundamentally alter overall force capability.

Sure little bro

It’s 7th May, and a constant reminder that HAL still hasn’t delivered a single LCA Mk1A to the IAF. The company has 6 engines and more than 20 airframes already in inventory, yet deliveries remain pending. Few aerospace companies in the world could sit on such massive inventory without intense scrutiny over inventory holding costs, production bottlenecks, and delivery timelines.

@prody24445539 Do you think stealth with low RCS makes a difference for air forces today tho? Or do you think we can do without stealth. If we can, what combat aircraft will you suggest for our airforce? Imo Su30MKI with more squadrons and Super Sukhoi upgrades would be perfect.

@prody24445539 2. If IAF was so supportive of Tejas Mk1, why no huge orders before Manohar Parrikar ji became RM? The Mk1 was already better than Mig21 whom it was built to replace. Atleast we would've numbers rn which we are struggling to maintain. 3. Hermes 900 couldn't achieve Tapas' specs.

If you think timelines can be compressed without building the underlying infrastructure, you’re ignoring reality. A stealth UCAV needs an AMCA-level industrial base to even begin with, and engine testing dependence on Russia will keep stretching schedules. With current infrastructure, expect no less than ~36 months post CCS approval for any serious aircraft program.

As expected, the scale of damage to U.S. bases and sites in the Gulf is way WAY more than known/acknowledged. The impact this has on Gulf dynamics is going to be bigger than anyone still thinks.

DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat said the Ghatak UCAV will be comparable to a stealth fighter in capability. "They will be like fighters, they would be a stealth fighter... about a 13-ton class... LCA type fighter aircraft,"

The @DRDO_India & Indian Navy successfully jointly conducted the maiden Salvo launch of Naval Anti-ship Missile-Short Range (NASM-SR) from Indian Navy’s helicopter platform, off the coast of Bay of Bengal in Odisha. Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh complimented DRDO, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and industry including the DcPP partners for successful maiden salvo launch of Naval Anti-ship Missile-Short Range. He said that development of this missile will further enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces to a great extent.
