I've long held that Soldiers should have the option to buy their service rifles when Honorably Discharged. This has many upsides. 1) They continue service as inactive reserves. 2) It funds new rifles for new Soldiers. 2) It helps the manufacturing industry, plus other benefits.

@FakeTylerMorgan @couleeman15 @ngprecision I know. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense, but in the old days, it was more common to pull someone out of the Guard into active duty. Nowadays, the Guard deploys almost as much as the Regulars.

@couleeman15 @ngprecision Umm, I definitely had to register in 2002. Which I found hilarious, because I enlisted in the National Guard when I was 17. “Ok, I’ll register for the draft that won’t happen, even though I’m already enlisted”
