The Israeli drones are back, loud, low, & menacing hovering over the skies of Beirut once again. Yes, we are all traumatised from Black Wednesday. We are exhausted, grieving, & trying to make sense of the senseless. What happened that day was no ordinary strike. It was not just an attack. It was a mass killing of unimaginable scale. The images of the children, the elderly, & the innocent civilians stay with us; the scars are still fresh, still raw, & they will remain for a very long time. It came close, too close. We find ourselves thanking God that we are alive, only to be overcome with guilt, knowing that while we were spared, our fellow countrymen, our children, our men & women, were not. So when the drones return, sounding as they did the night before the attacks, the same feeling comes back. That same sickness. That same knot in the stomach.

Recent moves suggest a clear asymmetry going into U.S.–Iran talks: The U.S. appears to be: 1. Backing away from its own ultimatum 2. Pressuring Pakistan to broker a ceasefire (and helping draft the message) 3. Urging Israel to halt operations in Lebanon 4. Largely overlooking the closure of the Strait of Hormuz 5. Signaling willingness to release frozen Iranian funds 6. Indicating that talks will be based on Iran’s original 10- points framework 7. Sending the vice president for the discussions with a regime it tried to topple Iran, meanwhile, simply shows up to the talks, and even didn't "open" the Straits as agreed. While the administration’s effort to pursue a diplomatic solution and halt the cycle of escalation is commendable, The real issue is that Tehran likely assume it is entering the talks from a position of strength. Ultimately, the administration will have to make a choice: accept a deal on terms largely shaped by Iran framed as a “gracious compromise”, or stand firm on its principles at the risk of another round of escalation. At this stage, the least probable scenario to envision is Iran backing down. Since Iran has taken a significant blow with serious economic consequences that shouldn’t be underestimated, Any agreement will, almost by definition, strengthen the regime. At the same time, another round of conflict is unlikely to bring it down, and its costs will only continue to rise. Still, at this stage, it appears that one side is more eager to reach an agreement. We will soon see whether, and how, that urgency translates into actual progress at the negotiating table. These are not easy choices. #IranWar

According to Iranian channels, Washington has reportedly (can not independently verify the claim) authorized the release of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds, with Qatari and South Korean representatives said to be arranging the transfer within days. - If confirmed, together with the expected Lebanon ceasefire announcement, this would strongly indicate that the U.S. is taking concrete steps to unlock the diplomatic track toward Islamabad. #Iran #Iranwar

NEW: Iranian delegation led by Qalibaf has arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan The Iranian delegation, headed by the Parliament speaker, arrived in Islamabad, to negotiate with the American side. This delegation consists of security, political, military, economic, and legal committees. If the other side accepts Iran's preconditions for starting negotiations, these talks will begin. The FM, the Secretary of the Defense Council, Governor of the Central Bank, as well as some members of Parliament, are accompanying Qalibaf on this trip. Vance, along with Witkoff and Kushner, are also present in Islamabad, Pakistan. Iran has accepted a 2-week ceasefire but emphasized that if the agreement is not satisfactory to Iran and the Resistance Nexus, US & Israeli interests will be attacked again. According to unconfirmed reports: • The US has authorized the release of $6 billion dollars in frozen Iranian funds • A ceasefire will be implemented in Lebanon These are apparently the preconditions for Iran to start talks tomorrow.

Iran turned the table on Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, Lebanese president Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The choices are limited: either no negotiations and Monday morning’s market will go crazy, or Trump forces Netanyahu’s hand and stop the war. Even so, how will Iran receive dozens of billions of dollars of its own frozen assets on Saturday before the due meeting in Islamabad?

The US and Israel's strategic defeat in the war with Iran, and Iran's strengthened geopolitical position, may give the Abraham Accords a new lease on life. The UAE, and perhaps other GCC states, may turn to Israel to balance against Iran since they either don't want to, or don't believe they can, reach a modus vivendi with Tehran. And because they understandably don't believe they can surely rely on the US any longer. But the Accords will now be completely naked. No more pretense about creating peace in the region. Or that it will help the Palestinians. Rather, it's true and original intent will be clear for all to see: An anti-Iran coalition that adds to the region's instability. Ironically, the Accords contributed to creating the circumstances that brought about the current war, and doubling down on the Accords will likely only make matters worse.

From the declaration of the “ceasefire” on 10 October 2025 through 8 April 2026, Israel killed 736 people across the Gaza Strip. Around 150 of them were killed during the joint Israeli‑American attack on Iran. “The yellow line,” drawn as part of the Trump plan and leaving more than half of Gaza’s territory under Israeli control on a “temporary” basis, has become an arena of killing and repeated displacement of Palestinians and is solidifying into a de facto border. According to recent satellite‑image analysis, since the “ceasefire” began, the Israeli military has erected seven new posts along the yellow line, shifted its route to bite off more of Gaza’s land, and begun constructing a ground barrier stretching for kilometers. Gaza’s roughly 2.1 million residents are forced to crowd into an area that amounts to less than half of the Strip’s territory. More than one million displaced people urgently need basic shelter supplies. Most live in makeshift tents, vulnerable to flooding and inhuman sanitation conditions, or in damaged structures at immediate risk of collapse. With the onset of the attack on Iran, Israel imposed draconian restrictions on the entry of humanitarian supplies into the Strip, causing a roughly 80% drop in the number of aid trucks entering. With crossings closed, the number of patients allowed to leave the Strip for urgent medical treatment plummeted to 16 in March, while more than 18,500 patients who need treatment outside Gaza are unable to leave. Gaza’s healthcare system, almost entirely destroyed in the Israeli assault, is now expected to cope with a massive patient load amid severe shortages of medicines, medical equipment and fuel. The closure of the crossings has also exacerbated Gaza’s food crisis: basic commodities have disappeared from markets, and the prices of other goods have soared beyond the reach of most of the population. As a result, about 1.6 million people are expected to face hunger this month. Six months into the so-called ceasefire, the killing, destruction, starvation and displacement persist, while the international community continues to turn its back on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and to enable the genocide carried out by Israel.

Iran didn't just block the Strait. It hit the source. 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia just confirmed: Iranian attacks knocked out 700,000 bpd of production capacity. That's 5%+ of the Kingdom's entire output gone. Look at that map. The infrastructure Iran targeted isn't random: 🛢️ Ain Dar–Khurais Pipeline heart of Saudi oil fields 🔁 East-West Pipeline the bypass route AROUND Hormuz 🚢 Jubail, Ras Tannurah key export terminals on the Gulf This is surgical. Iran isn't just taxing Hormuz. It's dismantling the alternative routes too. The world had a backup plan for a Hormuz closure. That plan just took a 600K bpd haircut. Saudi capacity: 10–12M bpd Offline now: 700K bpd Hormuz traffic: 10% of normal Oil heading to $100+: 📈 Every drop matters right now. And there are fewer drops. Subscribe to my newsletter link in bio.

#Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said in a statement that in adherence to the message of the Iran's leader Sayyed #MojtabaKhamenei, the forces remain in full readiness with their fingers on the trigger due to repeated breaches of commitments by #US and the Israeli entity in the past, just as during the period of the imposed war and the 40 days and nights of asymmetric warfare. The statement said that the forces will not leave unpunished the criminal aggressors who attacked Iran, adding: " We will bring the management of the Strait of Hormuz into a new phase, maintaining the initiative to control it. We will never relinquish our legitimate rights." The statement warned that, given the unity of the resistance front, if the Israeli entity's aggression on the Resistance and the people of #Lebanon continues, it will deliver a "crushing and painful response."

Two of the measures mutually agreed upon between the parties have yet to be implemented: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iran’s blocked assets prior to the commencement of negotiations. These two matters must be fulfilled before negotiations begin.

Professor Mohammad Marandi told #AlMayadeen that a ceasefire in Lebanon is a decisive factor for #Iran, adding that if the #UnitedStates fails to enforce the ceasefire, then it is either dishonest or incapable of controlling its ally. Professor Marandi described the Israeli April 8 attacks on #Lebanon as "one of the ugliest massacres that has ever been seen in living memory," highlighting that the attacks were conducted out of spite rather than military objectives. @s_m_marandi

⚡️🇮🇷JUST IN: A senior Iranian source to Press TV: – Iran pressured Israel to halt attacks on Beirut, calling it a key development – Iran made stopping strikes on Beirut a condition for joining ceasefire talks with the U.S., delaying its delegation to Islamabad – Tehran warned continued Israeli attacks would cancel negotiations, with talks now conditional on no strikes on Beirut, especially the southern suburbs – Any renewed attacks could fully suspend talks
