Fans always say they want the truth until they’re actually ready to handle it. Here’s the truth: Juan Soto has been repeatedly asked in press conferences how these games compare to playing in the World Series. His answer has been consistent every time. Nothing compares to playing for your home country! No matter how much the media or fans try to spin this into a Mets vs. Yankees debate, it isn’t one. When Soto mentioned the 2019 Nationals and 2024 Yankees as “fun” teams, guess what? He’s specifically comparing teams he played on that actually reached the World Series and one that even won it. As for the Mets? The 2025 Mets were not a fun team. In fact, watching them felt like an endless hell loop. It was anything but enjoyable. So, do you want a company man who sugarcoats everything, or do you want the real deal? Don’t ask the question if you’re not ready to hear the honest answer.

Don’t get me wrong, I love that the World Baseball Classic is happening right now. But imagine how much better it would be if MLB just took 2 weeks off in the summer around the All-Star break and played the WBC every couple of years. Similar to what the NHL does with Four Nations. Midseason. Players in rhythm. No pitch limits. No spring ramp-up. Just elite talent.

A few thoughts here: - MLB has to eventually transition to an all-league TV revenue system like the NFL and fans paying for MLB TV shouldn’t be blacked out. - Floor is fine but cap shouldn’t be lower than $300M, at least not at first. - There should be a transition period, allowing teams lower/higher than this salary window to adjust payroll over the next few years.

Heyman: Early estimates suggest proposed salary cap might be set around $260M-280M and floor around $140M-160M.

@sn_5713 I think we have to wait & see but I def agree that the potential is there for this squad to be much better than 2025. Even if the guys we parted with might be better overall on paper, it’s still worth the change bc 83 wins is embarrassing for a team that had WS expectations
