For 40 days, @DHSgov employees have worked without pay.
I just got back from a @SenateCommerce markup, and not a single Democrat showed up. These bipartisan bills-- including a Coast Guard promotion-- couldn’t move forward because Senate Democrats bailed.

REMINDER: Congressional Democrats shut down DHS 40 days ago––after causing a full government shutdown for 43 days last year.
Republicans are the only ones who have consistently voted to fully fund DHS, in both the House and Senate. TSA security officers would be getting a paycheck right now if Democrats had voted for the bipartisan FY2026 DHS funding bill. But they continue to choose chaos at the expense of Americans.

This is unacceptable and avoidable! While TSA officers work to keep Americans safe, they’re struggling to make ends meet because Senate Democrats have voted 14 times to block their pay.

BREAKING: Acting TSA Administrator Ms. Ha Nguyen McNeill testifies before Congress that TSA is currently suffering the longest wait times in agency history, with callout rates hitting 40-50% at some airports and more than 480 employees quitting since the shutdown began. McNeil testifies that TSA has been shut down for half of fiscal year 2026, and $1 billion in TSA paychecks will be missed if the shutdown isn't ended by Friday. She testified that to make ends meet, TSA officers have been selling blood and plasma and sleeping in their cars. Some have received eviction notices, missed bill payments and accrued late fees, damaged their credit, and have defaulted on loans, but are “still expected to perform at the highest level”.
