@1984_nate Dead means dead. There’s no Scriptural basis for thinking death can even be used as a metaphor……🤔

No, it is inactivity towards God. And Romans 8:7-8 doesn’t say the enemy of God cannot change their mind about how they feel about God.

@Jondaphemp The dead in Eph 2 are very active, in sin. That’s the point. Spiritual death doesn’t mean inactivity; it means inability toward God (Rom 8:7–8).

@1984_nate Romans 8 is terrible for proving prefaith regeneration because it skips right over unbelief to having the Spirit dwelling in you, which happens after faith. There’s a step missing that they need to make their argument.

If God ordained sin so as to glorify Himself or bring Himself maximum glory, doesn't it necessarily follow that God needed sin so as to be maximally glorious?

@darknytPB @DPGBehler This seems like decent criteria for evaluating a character witness. It speaks directly to the quality of his opinion (or lack thereof) on this subjective point. Is there an objective data point that is being argued against using ad hominem here?

@DPGBehler Uh, explaining your motive for ad hominem is meaningless. But, I it’s not like I actually expected you to say, “you’re right, it kinda was. My bad.”

@masonbruza1 @1984_nate I don't think that Nate would deny that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and everything in it.

Primary vs. secondary causation. God being the primary cause does not eliminate secondary causes. This isn't a Calvinist thing it's affirmed by Reformed, Lutheran, and even Catholics because it comes from the doctrine of God itself. Denying God as primary causation makes God like Zeus and just another being (albeit a powerful one) alongside us rather than the Creator and sustainer of all things.

Nehemiah 9:8 You found his (Abraham) heart faithful before You, And made a covenant with him What an odd thing to say if Calvinism is true and God caused Abraham to be faithful in the first place. Hm...

Calvinism in a nutshell... ...."since you disagree with me, you "dont know the things of God". And there's nothing I can do to give you the gnowledge." So he just stopped by to say..."I'm better than you". Another calvinist winning hearts and minds.🤡🤡🤡

I’m watching this Gonzaga/Baylor national title game from years ago and I find myself rooting for them and thinking, “If they can cut this lead to 10 at the half, they have a chance.”

@JLine2328 @theo_bruv It may not be per se (I don’t know) but you are treated as a heretic by online reformed folks for rejecting it.

@wichman_matthew @LanceAcree Arminianism is in a way a distinction without a difference for me because they believe in a bona fide offer of salvation to all and a prevenient grace that goes out to everyone. I'm just not convinced that man lost his ability to believe in the fall of Adam

I never bought into the Calvinist arguments, even while I was still wading in the shallows on soteriology. I believe I owe a big part of that to the training I had in symbolic logic in college.

@ProvisionistP Because PP you ignore all the scriptures about how man's heart is wicked so your definition of "free" in "free will" is not accurate.

@evotavausa @slipperstillfit I think it is ok to consider him a back court player. He won't be playing much down low or at the elbow. He's a perimeter guy who drives, handles, passes, and stretches the floor (plays like a guard).

Gonzaga looks to be out of the market for USC's Desmond Claude. Doesn't make sense financially/rotation-wise with the backcourt signing of Tyon Grant-Foster and soon-to-be Mario Saint-Supery.

@wichman_matthew If God doesn't try and fail, He certainly isn't giving a well-meant offer to everyone.
