Our TMAs were hit 50 times last year. Fifty. Distracted driving puts every life on the road at risk. Make the right choice behind the wheel—stay focused. Never drive distracted. 📵🚗

@falcon6615 @AmusedToDeath1 Of course it's sold out, there are soccer fans in the US + international fans. However, it's absolutely not the type of incredibly prestigious event that it would be in a country that cares about soccer. 90%+ of Americans couldn't name a single player on the national team

@eldiablo1888 @Dan1763 @Colleenallreds The number of Americans who care about whether Bosnian soccer fans feel poorly done by on their vacation to the US is probably smaller than the population of Dayton, OH

@Dan1763 @Colleenallreds After everything Bosnia has been thru with wars and genocide, first time qualifying for a WC. Do you honestly think this is in anyway shape or form a good way to treat Bosnian football fans? Your country's reputation is already in the gutter, you slaughtered 165 schoolgirls ffs

All I can think about is how Chicago and Minneapolis saw the FIFA terms in 2018 and were like “lol naw we’re good.” What the must be thinking now…

@MischiefCS2 Wouldn't it be fair to say that increasing the total number of LAN games provides higher quality overall data though? The tiebreaker being online games seems fine if teams have to be able to perform well, or play a lot, on LAN first.

For the Budapest major, LANW's and local LANs became significantly more important for the final rankings. However, its important to note that this has now essentially reversed. There are currently 69 teams with >0.8 LANW, with over half having >0.95 LANW. Such that teams are practically tied. This tie ends up being decided by teams' online results in cups and open qualifiers. During this major run, alot of teams' fates were decided on LAN, but they could have been as equally decided online. With teams being capped out and equal on LANW, it ends up where Bounty Offered, Bounty Collected and Opponent Network become the difference makers. There is no difference in weighting for these latter 3 components whether a tournament is offline / online, and often they are more plentiful online too.
Darius@Takkx_S

@MischiefCS2 This is great Online CS is plagued with matchfixing and cheaters. Thank god VRS prioritizes LANs

This is a scary statistics but it’s somewhat irrelevant. It needs to be conditioned by the distributions of miles traveled by a passenger in that vehicle. Most people ride motorcycles on weekends, less than 1,000mi/yr, and drive a car 20,000mi/yr. Give a motorcycle a try.
Steve Stewart-Williams@SteveStuWill

“A motorcyclist who traveled 15 miles every day for a year had an astonishing 1 in 860 chance of dying. A person who took a 500 mile flight every day for a year would have a fatality risk of 1 in 85,000.” stevestewartwilliams.com/p/love-blindne…

@aizyesque Is this accounting for the need to redefine what a tier 1 tournament is, since under the current definition, this could be trivially gamed?

16 is way too many. Realistically only NAVI and Vitality should be auto qualifies from the last few months. Everyone else should have to prove they're still good cause I don't trust any of them My actual real solution is any team who wins a tier one trophy auto qualifies
hfUTD@hf_UTD

@aizyesque there just needs to be 16 auto qualifiers in EU through vrs and then the next 8 teams all play a double elim tournament for that last spot. you get the benefits of the vrs system giving you the best teams over a season while also getting that rmr feeling at the end

Look, if you're going to do it, do it properly(*) 1) it's "May it please Your Majesty" but at least they omitted "Dear" and didn't do "Dear the King" which is hideous 2) the ending should be "We have the honour to be, Sir, Your Majesty's humble and obedient servants" and yes that applies even though they're American (*) technically invites should be addressed to the King's Private Secretary. But I like some spectacle!

@Shiv_who_burns @STRAP_Enjoyer @tc1415 It's far ruder to me to expect that everyone must refer to themselves as servants of the king, but to each their own (at least until the monarchy is abolished, and no one has to refer to themselves as servants any more).

@STRAP_Enjoyer @tc1415 Excluding countries with lèse-majesté laws, sure. But in Britain, following etiquette for letters to the King would be important if you want a certain outcome. Since Britain is the junior partner to the US, that's not true for Americans

@arpitrage You can effectively short bitcoin, so if you know it can br cracked, then you can easily make the value of the biggest wallet. also, if someone suddenly transfers money from the satoshi wallet, without it being obvious who it is, then the value of bitcoin might actually go up
