Who actually builds nuclear plants?

They rescued Vogtle in Georgia, delivering the first new U.S. reactors in 30+ years and cutting costs 30% between Unit 3 and Unit 4 by standardizing processes. That learning curve is exactly what makes the next project cheaper and faster.
They broke ground on TerraPower’s Natrium reactor in Wyoming, a sodium-cooled advanced reactor that runs at 345 MW baseload and flexes to 500 MW, purpose-built to complement renewable-heavy grids. DOE-backed. Bill Gates-backed. Now under construction.
They’re planning an SMR at TVA’s Clinch River site in Tennessee alongside GE Hitachi, targeting commercial operation by 2033.
And they just signed an agreement to build Poland’s first nuclear plant, three AP1000 reactors, witnessed by the Polish PM and U.S. Energy Secretary. That’s not just business. That’s countering Russian and Chinese nuclear influence in Eastern Europe.
76,000+ MW delivered. 150 plants worldwide. A 9,000-person trained nuclear workforce rebuilt at Vogtle alone.
You can have the best reactor design in the world. Without EPC firms that can actually execute at this scale, it stays on paper.
