@TimBevevino @Bradley_Cude @JustinWStapley There are other experts and agencies saying the opposite and we are all cherry picking the experts that we wish to believe, aren't we? Like I am an ordinary family man working in software, how the hell I know what's on the ground in Iran? To me, common sense > experts.

Um, no we weren't, bro. Prior to the war, Iran did not have a nuclear weapon and had not made the political decision to pursue one. That's not me saying that, it's all 18 US intelligence agencies, including the ODNI in her sworn testimony before Congress. If we're going to conduct US foreign policy based on shit that happened 47 years ago (that the CIA facilitated), then we might as well call it a day.

Marco Rubio is the frontrunner. And he hasn't campaigned, he hasn't cozied up to the online mob...he just simply and straightforwardly did the job he's been asked to do. Hint: Americans are sick of the drama, sick of the online trolling...they just want a guy who puts his nose the grindstone and demonstrates some gosh darn low-drama competence.

Interesting that you mention Marie Curie. I was talking to my son about her today. You can have a system which encourages her to build XR units and discover new elements. Or, you can a system that focuses on her safety and makes sure she doesn’t die prematurely because of long-term exposure to radiation. Fundamentally, US today is the country where Currie can invent; Europe is where she is kept from dying. In big picture, you can choose one or the other, but you can’t have both.

Europe is not losing to the US because it lacks engineers, capital or universities. It is losing because every layer of its system rewards the gatekeeper and punishes the builder. In medicine I see it weekly. A primary care AI that triages, documents and flags risk gets deployed in months in the US and runs into a years long compliance maze in Europe. By the time the European version is approved, the American one has been retrained twice and is cheaper. In energy it is worse. Spain ran 60 percent of April on clean power, then keeps shutting down nuclear plants that work. France stays stable on its grid. Germany burns lignite to compensate for a political decision made in 2011. Industry quietly leaves. In capital markets, an EU founder still raises across 27 fragmented systems while a Texan founder raises once and sells across a continent. None of this is about culture. It is about rules. The continent that gave the world Pasteur, Fleming and Marie Curie is now the one that consults itself to death while others ship. If Europe wants to matter in 2030, it needs less harmonization theater and more permissionless building. Otherwise the talent will keep voting with its feet, and the speeches in Brussels will keep arriving on time.

@Senikistan @jonatanpallesen It's not a complex financial crime. I think if he has the mental capacity to understand how to pull off a sexual intercourse, he has an equivalent IQ to at least a 13 year old, and he understands raping is not ok, because we don't see 13 years old kids raping each other normally.

The most idiotic progressive idea may well be the idea that people with low IQ should get far lower sentencing. Just now in Norway, a Syrian migrant is sentenced to only 6 months in jail after child rape. It makes zero sense. It obviously doesn't make it less bad for the victim or future victims that their rapist is retarded. His IQ wasn't even that extremely low. It was estimated to be in the range of 64–75. The Syrian mean is around 78. So he is within normal range for the Syrian population. Even if their argument did make sense, 6 months for child rape is an insanely low. What are we doing?

Not long so ago, I believed the political divide wasn’t all that wide. I thought it was propaganda. I believed people were cherry-picking stories to make the left seem more hateful and violent than they were. Then I wore a Charlie Kirk t-shirt and witnessed it firsthand. I was stared at, sneered at, and berated. When I shared that experience, I was called a liar, received hate mail, and was added to public social media lists of fascists, Nazis, and racists. I got death threats. It opened my eyes. What’s truly terrifying is that I got off light. Charlie Kirk was murdered in front of the world. Attempts have been made on Trump’s life. Schools have been targeted by violent leftists. Christian church services have been disrupted by leftist mobs. Riots have caused property damage, destruction, and loss of life. Conservative journalists have been attacked. Tesla owners have been targeted. And those are just the things playing out on the main stage. I know people who’ve been swatted, physically attacked, and had their families targeted—ordinary people like me who dared to speak the truth. Meanwhile, leftist politicians and media personalities push the delusional fairy tale that the right is evil and cite studies that falsely claim both sides are responsible. The truth is we have a problem in the United States. That problem isn’t coming from the right. And you can’t fix a problem until you admit you have one. x.com/bungarsargon/s…

What you're describing isn't a critique of capitalism. It's a critique of what happens when the system that was supposed to reward your work stops delivering enough to live on. Your grandparents had gardens. They made things with their hands. They had time. Not because they rejected capitalism but because a single income covered a household and left room for a life. The feeling you're missing isn't anti-capitalist. It's what was extracted before it reached you.

As my colleagues and I walked toward the Hilton for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, a man shouted “F*** you!” right at us — simply because we were attending. Later that night, after the shooting, we were running to the White House for the briefing when we passed three teenage girls glued to their phones, reacting to the news. One of them said, “Aw man, I wish they got him,” and her two friends giggled. That moment stopped me cold. When our young people casually cheer for violence like it’s a game, we have a serious problem. Radicalization isn’t some abstract issue — it’s showing up casually in everyday conversations and in our kids’ attitudes.
