We've had a shortage of housing since the 80s but it wasn't a "crisis" while it was just low income households that were suffering
It only became a "crisis" when the children of middle income parents couldn't afford to buy their own homes

Want to fix the housing crisis? Build new council homes, introduce rent caps and end the scourge of empty homes. We need housing for public good, not private profit.

@bobrmitchell Funding thirty years of pensions with fewer people in employment and paying taxes is an impossibility. When originally set you could expect to get maybe five if you were lucky.
France is going to have severe problems when they're unable to pay pensions.

So as Britons face having to work until 70 to get state pension if born since 1979 the French people almost topple the Government with a threat to increase retirement age from 62 to 64.

If Ofsted inspects a school that is forced to teach kids who turn up hungry, and has had its funding so viciously cut that it can barely afford a pack of pencils, that is NOT a failing school. That is a failing government.

Today I'm travelling to York for the @LibDems Spring Conference. I would like to go by train, but it costs £172. Even with fuel costing so much at the moment, it is still cheaper and the same duration to drive. When will the Government sort out public transport in this country?

Broken down train in front apparently, but these huge delays don’t seem to worry the Italians.
Fortunately got a text offering a 50% /€41 refund straight away.

🚢 On the ship across Messina strait around 1500/1400GMT, Palermo arrive 1925, but 30 late already.
