Actually, if you offer to show your ID, they claim you could be committing a crime! Last November, I went to my local polling place to vote as usual. There was a woman in front of me that looked like your typical Southern California Caucasian liberal Karen. She demanded to be let to vote! She said she had just completed her "naturalization ceremony" on Friday, and that she demanded to vote on Tuesday morning. She had no ID, no paperwork to verify her naturalization. They shrugged and gave her a ballot. I waited outside in my car and when she exited, I followed her to another nearby polling place. She entered and gave the same story to that polling place. They also gave her a ballot to vote.
