Gross. I’ve watched a lot of interrogation videos, and a running theme is how the perp always has sympathy for themselves in a way they didn’t have their victim. “I’m gonna miss out on all my son’s life!” You ever stop to think that Athena’s parents are gonna miss out on all of her life because you’re a reprehensible, degenerate child killer? If you thought of that before the crime, you wouldn’t miss out on your kid’s life either.
Collin Rugg@CollinRugg

The FedEx driver who abducted a seven-year-old girl before driving her to her death, complains about how bad his life will be if he goes to prison. Tanner Horner abducted and killed Athena Strand while delivering a Barbie to her home in North Texas. In newly released footage, Horner could be heard whining to police about how he won't be able to watch his son grow up if he goes to prison. Horner was heard accusing a voice in his head named 'Zero' of making him kill Athena. "I'm going to miss out on all my son's Christmases, his birthdays, and growing up. I'm going to miss out on everything," Horner said. "All because I listened to some stupid voice that isn't probably even there."

People are getting brain damage when they try to come off antidepressants (especially with rapid, doctor directed tapers) The truth is: we still don’t fully understand the long-term effects these drugs have on the brain What we do see, in real life, is life-altering withdrawal and irreversible neurological damage affecting hundreds of thousands of people. Some people take one pill and lose their sexuality, their cognition, their ability to feel love or connection. And for some, it never comes back. #pssd #ssriwithdrawal #antidepressants @PSSDNetwork
The Vigilant Fox 🦊@VigilantFox

Theo Von reveals he was put on antidepressants after “a tough day at school” and has NEVER been able to get off them since. THEO: “That shit makes you feel dead, man.” ROGAN: “So why did you take them in the first place?” THEO: “Cause I was in a bad relationship 20 years ago, and I was having a tough day at school, and they f*cking gave them to me, and then I never got off.” Theo’s experience is not uncommon. A 2019 meta-analysis revealed that 56% of people experience withdrawal symptoms when trying to quit antidepressants. Of those who experienced withdrawal symptoms, nearly half (46%) described them as “severe.” Before you get placed on the antidepressant hamster wheel like Theo Von did, consider trying exercise instead. Large-scale meta-analyses show that physical exercise is about 1.5 times more effective than antidepressants for depression.

@pabloenmarbs @DrJosefWD Do you really think people would complain that the drugs gave them sexual dysfunction if they already had sexual dysfunction? Use your brain for a bit. Depression doesn't cause genital numbness anyway.

@DrJosefWD fake news spreader - the dysfunction is coz they're still depressed whether they're still on SSRI's or given them up. With a high enough dose sexual desire returns unless of course there are other issues

Before someone starts an SSRI, they should know about PSSD. Persistent sexual dysfunction that does not go away when the drug stops. Not rare. Documented. A 13% rate in some populations. Nobody mentions this at the prescription counter. Nobody mentioned it in the media campaign defending these medications. Informed consent means telling people the full risk. Not just the part that makes them say yes.

So you didn't read the study properly. They didn't mention anything about PSSD. They simply compared their genital sensation to those who took other psych drugs or none at all. You don't know if it's higher than in the general population because they never asked these questions during the SSRI trials. And it's not something psychiatrists ask their patients either. Very few patients are going to bring up such a delicate and embarrassing issue on their own. PSSD is under-studied and under-reported.

@void_prison @hanna_pssd @DanielleGansky Why is the rate of it so high in this group specifically compared to PSSD in general population? The answer is that group loves to self diagnose and attention seek via chronic conditions. That's besides the point. I was just pointing out that you can't extrapolate that data

@JohnAnthonyMD @hanna_pssd @DanielleGansky None of those "comorbities" you mentioned causes genital anesthesia anyway. So it's just a ridiculous excuse. You'll blame anything but drugs that are known for causing genital numbness. It's obvious they have PSSD to anyone who isn't being dishonest.

@JohnAnthonyMD @hanna_pssd @DanielleGansky So why didn't the SGM youth who were on other psychiatric drugs, or no drugs at all experience it? Why only the ones who took SSRIs? But just keep lying to yourself i guess.

@void_prison @hanna_pssd @DanielleGansky Wrong for so many reasons. SGM youth experience disproportionately high rates of minority stress, trauma, and complex psychiatric comorbidities, aka GIANT confounder. Even with that, theCI was so wide it's effectively moot. Terrible power. Idk why I try and educate yall are silly

NfL levels don't rise when small or thinly myelinated nerve fibers are damaged, only when large protein rich one's are. And the majority of synapses in the brain are made up of small fibers. There could be a ton of damage to these small fibers and serum NfL levels would still be normal. And guess which type of nerve fiber is more susceptible to electrical damage, the large insulated ones or small ones without protection?

@FarewellSSRI @samhall404 @GeorgeKirov1 @ProfRobHoward @chrisaikenmd I don't need your approval. but x.com/JunHongLi56447… I have provided many papers here. It is proved that there is no significant increase in related brain injury markers after ECT. This is the direct molecular data.
Christopher John Lee@JunHongLi56447

@Phuxlea This and a large number of other papers essentially rule out the hypothesis that ECT causes brain damage. nature.com/articles/s4138… I don't know of a single rigorous paper showing that ECT leads to an increase in NFL and other key biomarkers.

@DanielleGansky 100s of thousands is an insane claim. I can guarantee you not even 10000 people have suffered permanent issues from ssris. I would even bet it's under 1000

It's way higher than 0.46% fool. All they did was look at the percentage of previous SSRI users who have an active viagra prescription. It doesn't take a genius to see the problem with that. This study, on the other hand, found 13% has persistent genital anesthesia long after stopping. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39302425/

@hanna_pssd @DanielleGansky It's actually 92k-130k. Like close to 100k. 0.46% of prevalence of PSSD times the rough estimate of American adults on SSRIs. The good SSRIs do is so far and beyond the risk of this rare side effect it's damn near not worth mentioning. Skill issue if you get it honestly.

But if a psychiatrist combines an antidepressant, an antipsychotic and a mood stabiliser, it’s framed as “clinical mastery,” “precision psychiatry” and “evidence based care,” rather than the potential recipe for disaster it is for many patients. 🤔
Muhammad Aadil, MD@m_aadil

It is time to put to rest these influencer-driven “protocols,” which are based on junk science. Combining a stimulant, a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, and multiple GABAergic agents is a recipe for disaster.
