At the fitting rooms in American Uniqlo branches, they always give you a number tag corresponding to the number of items you have.. in case you walk in with 10 pieces and exit with 5.
At the fitting rooms in Taiwan, they don't bother counting the clothes. I'm sure it's the same elsewhere in East Asia.
One of the gajillion benefits of high-trust societies.

@RioluRuby @MisterFizz @colin_fraser You're assuming people can't/won't combine generative AI with rules/procedures that replicate the structure of more traditional procedural generation. There's not any reason that would be true.
English

@MisterFizz @colin_fraser In fact, I can tell you how to experience the exact disappointment this would bring. Imagine you asked a computer for this, then go play the game 0° North 0° West and imagine that’s what it generated for you instead

I don't know how to explain to generative AI enthusiasts that no one is actually going to want to read the library of babel

It's going to be insane when we can prompt our own virtual worlds like this and explore them. Imagine adding other characters you can talk to with LLMs + voice models!

@KIMMT37 @chrisluxonmp Yes I was thinking the same why Indian flag.

@corsaren @rlacombe @arithmoquine Heh, c'mon man you can't post your original claim and then be like "but of course the bar doesn't exist for me".

Oh, I’ve found my person. Can’t imagine being without her. Though I’ve been in many relationships, where, if I’m being honest, that was not the case. And from my observations, I think a lot of/most(?) relationships are like this.
I should also caveat the claim that it’s a person + a set of circumstances, so less of a claim about well ordered partner rankings and more that the possibility space is so vast that the function probably doesn’t return the null set. It’s by no means rigorous though

@marinador_qguay @stasreads333 Spain isn't depicted as not having a national day.

Land info NZ has a very important role. And does an awesome job, enabling title search very efficiently and cheaply. Now ur making me mad. Value delivered is not always measured in ROI. Yes they could charge the earth, BUT THEY DONT! Thank goodness for value somewhere. Archives NZ are the same. You need to understand some things are OK as they are. Anyway AI is going reach these opperations very soon and the data is extremely valuable. It does not belong in private hands.

The Government's asset portfolio includes a property valuation firm, struggling farms, and sunset industries like mail and television. It’s only fair to ask: do taxpayers really need to own these? Selling them could free up billions for priorities that actually matter – like new hospitals, life-saving medicines, or paying down debt.

@TheBlueLib There's some alignment & benefits to be had in the northern hemisphere, but the realistic capability and political willingness of the UK, Europe and Canada to project force in the South Pacific is zero. Our future lies in our relationships with Australia, Japan, SK, ASEAN, India.

@BenUffindell In the land of the porn bots the psuedonymous guy is king.

@GraemeEdgeler @PronouncedHare No one's proposing the aforementioned happen in that article.
English

@GraemeEdgeler @PronouncedHare We don't give out passports at birth to the people entitled to an Australian or PRC passport though. No one's suggesting stripping passports from Cook Islanders who already have them.
English

@PronouncedHare A passport is a right of citizenship. It would seem a little odd that NZ would allow its citizens to jointly hold NZ passports alongside Australian passports or PRC passports (the PRC may not?), but would draw the line at allowing NZ citizens to hold Cook Islands passports.

@StereoIncognito @LewSOS Drivers are only responsible for passengers under 15 wearing their seatbelt you dolt, (most) adults are responsible for themselves.
English

@LewSOS 🤣😂😂So do Taxis driver get a cutout in the seatbelt law or not?
