@ervadrx That’s was the whole point. Creating a villain by different standards, you are supposed to emphasize with bear but also dislike him. It’s not meant to pretend he’s innocent, yet in a way he is, but he’s also at fault. That’s the conundrum. And the whole time all he wanted was ❤️

Obsession does not fulfill women's urge to hate men or whatever, it's a showcase of how indecisive men will try to take what they think they want, realize they don't want it, be too afraid to do anything about it, and get other people involved while being a coward the entire time

Obsession was extremely popular because it fufills the female notion that every lonely mid guy is secretly a rapist monster and deserves to be miserable and alone. It would have been a nothing movie if the genders were swapped. Conversely if the rapist monster had been 6'3, extremely attractive, and a millionare, it would have also been a wild hit with women.

The reason why the wish at the end proves that Bear never really loved Nikki is because its only after the wish is made that he accepts death to save the real Nikki from the hell he put her in

The best part of Obsession is that Bear probably would’ve thrown up the pills if the wish didn’t stop him In the end Bear doesn’t have the guts to save Nikki himself The only reason she is ever set free is because Bear’s freewill is taken by the version of Nikki he wished for

@BatkingFinalMix @StackingWs one of the big things I picked up on is how infatuated bear was with this girl despite him not realizing she wasn’t into him and that she was also sleeping with the mutual friend, so no matter what happened he was always going to have a rough go no matter what.
