Today, at our LanzaJet's Freedom Pines Fuels facility in Soperton, Georgia, we’ve done what many thought impossible: LanzaJet has brought into full operation the world’s first and only commercial-scale Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) plant and began producing jet fuel - the world’s first non-oil based aviation fuel, entirely compatible with today’s fuels, aircraft and infrastructure. This monumental achievement marks a breakthrough moment for aviation and clean energy - the culmination of a 15-year journey to-date, first developed in a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) lab at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in partnership with LanzaTech. We’ve had the backing of an extraordinary group of partners and investors - @Airbus , @FlyANA_official, @Breakthrough, @British_Airways, @GroupeADP, @LanzaTech, @Microsoft, @mitsuiandco, @mufgbk_official, @Shell, @SouthwestAir, and @ENERGY - who made this milestone possible. LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels stands as the world’s first and only commercial operating Alcohol-to-Jet plant - a living blueprint for global deployment of this next-generation technology. By transforming widely available ethanol into jet fuel, ready to be blended to create a drop-in, certified jet fuel, we’re unlocking the next sustainable pathway to decarbonize aviation. This moment isn’t just about one moment in time or one facility - it’s about proving what’s possible. It’s about farmers and producers, airlines and energy leaders, engineers and innovators - all working together to transform the future of flight. Located in Treutlen County, less than 100 miles from Savannah, Freedom Pines Fuels has already delivered major economic benefits with our more than $300M investment - employing more than 300 people during construction, creating 65 permanent jobs and generating an estimated $100 million in annual economic activity for the local community. It’s a model we can replicate to grow the SAF industry and the clean energy economy across the country and around the world.
