लोकसभेत आज शून्य प्रहरात महाराष्ट्राचे दिवंगत उपमुख्यमंत्री व माझे ज्येष्ठ बंधू स्व. अजितदादा पवार यांच्या विमान अपघातातील मृत्यूचा मुद्दा उपस्थित केला. माझ्या भावाला जाऊन दोन महिने झाले. याच वर्षी २८ जानेवारीला माझ्या भावाचे प्लेन क्रॅश झाले. या घटनेला केवळ दोन महिने झाले आहेत. एखाद्या कुटुंबातला कर्ता पुरुष जेव्हा जातो, त्याचं दुःख त्या कुटुंबालाच माहिती असतं. आम्ही पण हे सोसलं आहे. या घटनेला दोन महिने झाले पण माझ्या कुटुंबाला न्याय मिळाला का ? माझा मोठा भाऊ महाराष्ट्राचा उपमुख्यमंत्री होता. त्याला जर न्याय मिळत नसेल तर सर्वसामान्य माणसाला कसा मिळणार? माझ्या मोठ्या भावाचा मुलगा रोहितला एक एफआयआर करायला जंग-जंग पछाडावे लागले. आमच्या राज्याने तर 'एफआयआर' नोंदवून घेतलाच नाही. त्यासाठी रोहित सर्वपक्षीय नेत्यांना भेटला. इतर राज्यांमध्ये गेला, अनेकांना विनवण्या केल्या की एफआयआर करा आणि त्याच्या काकाला म्हणजे अजितदादांना न्याय मिळू द्या, असे नमूद केले. एक एफआयआर करायला एवढी अडचण? या देशातील एका राज्याच्या उपमुख्यमंत्र्याचा जेव्हा एवढा मोठा अपघात होतो, त्याचा एफआयआर होत नसेल तर सामान्य माणसाने जायचं कुठे? तो माझा भाऊ होता, अजित पवार जेवढा माझा भाऊ होता, तेवढाच महाराष्ट्रातल्या प्रत्येक मनामधला एक लाडका नेता होता. तर एवढ्या मोठ्या नेत्याचा अपघात झाल्यावर चौकशी व्हायला नको? माझी नम्रपणे हात जोडून महाराष्ट्र आणि भारत सरकारला विनंती आहे की अजितदादांसह सगळ्यांच्या अपघातांची पारदर्शक चौकशी करा. मग तो अहमदाबादचा असुदे, हेलिकॉप्टर क्रॅशमध्ये सीडीएस बिपिन रावत गेले तो असुदे, अगर एअर अ‍ॅम्ब्युलन्सचा झारखंडला झालेला अपघात असुदे, न्याय हा समानच असला पाहिजे. प्रत्येक कुटुंब मग तो पायलट असेल, माझा दादा असेल, अंगरक्षक असेल किंवा त्या विमानात असलेल्या महिला असतील, त्या विद्यार्थिनी होत्या, त्या तरुण मुलीला पण न्याय मिळाला पाहिजे. आधी आम्हाला सांगितलं गेलं की ब्लॅक बॉक्स मिळणार, आता सांगितलं जातंय की तो खराब झालाय, हे काय सुरु आहे? असा प्रश्न उपस्थित केला. रोहित पवारांच्या प्रयत्नांनंतर महाराष्ट्राच्या माननीय मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी काल याच्यावर स्टेटमेंट केलं. पण माझी त्यांना नम्रपणे विनंती आहे की तुम्ही जी काही चौकशी अगर तपास करणार आहात तो कालबद्ध चौकटीत करा. या अपघाताबाबत अनेक प्रश्न उपस्थित झाले आहेत, त्याची उत्तरं सरकारने दिली पाहिजेत. स्व अजितदादा पवारांच्या विमान अपघातातील प्रत्येक व्यक्तीला न्याय मिळाला पाहिजे ही आमची मागणी आहे, अशी ठाम भूमिका मांडली.

MASS RALLY AGAINST THE IMPOSITION OF VANDE MATARAM. The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) organised a mass public rally in Kohima on March 16 to protest against what it described as the imposition of the song ‘Vande Mataram' during official functions and in educational institutions. Hundreds of students and members of the public gathered in the state capital to express their concern over the issue. The federation stated that making the song mandatory in official events and schools goes against the rights and sentiments of the Naga people. During the rally, participants carried placards and raised slogans while calling for respect for cultural and political sensitivities in the region. NSF leaders also addressed the gathering and urged authorities to reconsider the directive. The federation maintained that any policy affecting the people of Nagaland should respect the state's unique history, identity, and constitutional provisions. I condemn today’s military escalation in the Middle East. The use of force by the United States & Israel against Iran, and the subsequent retaliation by Iran across the region, undermine international peace & security.   All Member States must respect their obligations under international law, including the Charter of the @UN. The Charter clearly prohibits “the threat of the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.”   I call for an immediate cessation of hostilities & de-escalation. Failing to do so risks a wider regional conflict with grave consequences for civilians & regional stability. I strongly encourage all parties to return immediately to the negotiating table.   I reiterate that there is no viable alternative to the peaceful settlement of international disputes, in full accordance with international law, including the UN Charter. The Charter provides the foundation for the maintenance of international peace and security.

No excuses for racism. We, Northeast people, condemn any kind of racism towards Northeast people. Shillong, Feb 23: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma condemned a racial incident in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, where three women from Arunachal Pradesh were allegedly targeted with racial slurs. Calling the behaviour "unfortunate and unacceptable," Sangma said such language and conduct undermine the spirit of unity in a diverse nation like India. He assured support for the victims and stated that the matter could be taken to the highest level if required. Sangma appealed to citizens and community leaders to speak out against discrimination and work toward preventing similar incidents through awareness initiatives. He emphasised the need for unity and mutual respect, urging people across the Northeast and the country to stand together against racial prejudice.
