@Alyosha745 People don’t seem to understand your main point: Cushing can/will manage its tanks so that the entire facility never shuts down completely. It does this by consolidating the oil it has into fewer tanks ensuring they don’t go below the outflow pipes and pumps.

People don't realize there are circa 350 tanks in the Cushing tank farm that have a combined shell capacity of 91,000,000 barrels. Each tank holds between 250,000 to 500,000 barrels. The tap is at the bottom of each tank above the sludge line with a reasonable margin of safety as the sludge line rises over time. At 20 mm barrels in total, some tanks are filled and working normally and some are idle with capacity to fill. So the idea Cushing is out of busness now or it ever will be is nonsense. It just means the total of all oil in Cushing is low in the aggregate and concentrated in fewer tanks. Cushing can operate, store, and move 75 mm to 80 mm barrels of oil functionally. Frankly ... imo when the SOH is settled we are going to need that capacity and more, imo. This hair pulling "tank bottom" narrative is intended to imply Cushing is close to functional failure. Cushing has been at tank top more than it has been at tank bottom since the NYMEX made it the benchmark for WTI in 1983... Btw ...that applies to all petroleum fluids in commercial and above ground official storage anywhere on the planet.

In the last 6 days, Iran has exported more than 30M barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. In March, the first FULL month before the U.S. blockade began, Iran exported 35M barrels… in the entire MONTH. For full honesty and transparency, it is worth noting that Iran’s average monthly exports are ~50M barrels. With that said, Iran has not only exported at an extremely high rate, thus setting themselves up strategically in the event of a reimposed blockade, but they are also bringing in additional empty vessels that can be used as floating storage as well. While the full scale of exports through the SoH is not yet clear, it is likely that Iranian oil accounts for well over half of the oil exiting the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a release from U.S. Central Command, despite Iran’s announcement of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the strait remains open. Per the release, 55 vessels transited the strait today, transporting 17 million barrels of oil.
