@Oli4_VH If you are working with UI nodes, vertical and horizontal containers would work. Else, you could place them programmatically by row and column. Are the branches randomized in some way?

How does one create a science tree without needing to hardcode all the science positions??? I'm at a loss... #gamedevelopment #GodotEngine

@FishTaod That's a great question. Right now it's using a nav mesh + A* pathfinding. Its working great, but if I run into issue or major performance problems, I'll definitely look into flowfield. I just don't want to write it from scratch TBH 😭 I don't think Godot has a built in option

Huge improvements to unit navigation🧭 The most frustrating thing in an RTS is when the units don't know WTF they are doing when ordered to move or are constantly in the way of each other. That will NOT be an issue in our RTS. 🙅‍♂️ #RtsGame #RTS #IndieGame

@rilemtwit I’d say it d pends a lot on what the game is and who the prototype is for. Is it meant to test a mechanic or system, or is it meant too convince others? Then of course, there are games that are mechanically poor or unsurprising but are all about feel. In which case, polish asap.

This all looks amazing and can definitely elevate a prototype. Though, when working on early projects I easily fall into the trap of applying this type of polish too soon. For an early prototype, this can mess with your perception of how good something really is. Essentially, it made me a lazy designer. Something I need to keep reminding myself about! 🙃

The Godot doc is easily one of the best docs i've ever read. You can easily set models on fire, and connect the geometry to the emission point of your particle system, soo cool !

Screenshake is such a vital part of how games feel! In Slots & Daggers, the screenshake affects objects like the glass & dice. Trying to think of cool examples of other games doing silly mini games like this?

@sodesignby Looking amazing! Have you guys tried adding a bit of delay on the flashlight movement? Even just a bit might make the drone feel more weighty and in the world.
