“Two years ago more than half of Chinese opposed unifying China and Taiwan by military force. By late 2025, that figure had fallen to 38%…Support for forced unification, under at least some circumstances, had risen from 25% in 2024 to almost half.” economist.com/china/2026/03/…

@johnkonrad For what it's worth, apparently there will still be a Royal Navy in the year 2151 and sons will still be disappointing their fathers by not following them into the service.

“It’s been over a week, why can’t we get a single warship underway?” I gotta dial back on my UK Royal Navy taunts. It’s starting to feel less like punching up and more like walking into the short bus and stealing a kid’s self harm helmet for lols.

@AndrewKolvet @shellenberger Isn't that is the hearsayinest hearsay there ever was? That's not a man trying to help Lady Justice, that's a man trying to tamper with a jury.

Michael Shellenberger interviewed Joe Kent and is reporting that he's willing to testify in the defense of Tyler Robinson. Here's my interview with @shellenberger, posted in FULL. But let me add this... If Israel, Egyptian planes, or any foreign government killed Charlie, I want to know. I was not afraid of that being the truth (which is why I shared the group chat in the first place). But here we are, over six months having passed, and there have been ZERO actionable facts to back any of these theories up. There has been ZERO evidence presented of a broader conspiracy. If Joe Kent has proof, he needs to present it, otherwise all he's doing is sowing chaos and aiding and abetting a murderer.

I found something I wrote in 2018 on drug prices and trade imbalances. As I gear up to start writing again, I'm trying to remember that I can, in fact, do it. My self-esteem has been a bit beat up lately. Also, this AI paywall remover is wild. smry.ai/www.detroitnew…

@emzanotti All of those movies, save one, kids can watch. But I would not count North by Northwest as family friendly. Though there is one scene where it's important you watch the kid.

I'm starting to think that, perhaps, people may not have really watched the movies they've labeled "family friendly." Bridge on the River Kwai? Ghostbusters? I mean, they're good movies, just...maybe you weren't really paying attention.
Foundation Father | M.A. Franklin@FoundationDads

The Great Escape is family-friendly. Is it a movie just made for kids? The Bridge on the River Kwai is family-friendly. Is it a movie just made for kids? The Princess Bride is family-friendly. Is it a movie just made for kids? The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is family-friendly. Is it a movie just made for kids? North by Northwest is family-friendly. Is it a movie just made for kids? Star Wars is family-friendly. Is it a movie just made for kids? (No, it was not, despite what prequel apologists say) A "family-friendly movie" is not the same thing as a "movie made for kids," though many people conflate the two. And, importantly, a "family-friendly movie" does not mean a movie is tame or boring. Constraints give birth to creativity. All movies used to be "familiy-friendly" because it was understood the familiy would be watching movies together. Some of the best movies of all time are "family-friendly." Only later did we split off and create the category of "made for children," with one side betting more obscene and the other getting more frantic, shallow, and inane. Bring back "family-friendly" as the default. Project Hail Mary, which just made a bazillion dollars, is also "family-friendly." Not a coincidence.

The subpoena released this morning by Chuck Grassley in connection with the fraudulent Arctic Frost investigation is absolutely staggering. It didn’t just ask for Kash Patel’s phone records, it asked for everything he did from 2020 to 2023. Just to name a few, they requested all usernames and screen names, every address and email, complete billing and payment details including credit card and bank account numbers, every device ID, and a full log of every call, text, and voicemail showing who was contacted, when, and for how long. They also obtained all internet session data, including the exact IP addresses. So this wasn’t just about who Kash called. It was basically a complete view of his entire life, mapping his daily routines, travel, relationships, finances, and even tracking the specific hardware he used. In short, they got a full digital shadow of his life. To have come through all of this without so much as a scratch tells you just how clean he is.

🚨🇦🇺 Meanwhile in the Australian Parliament After the clip of PM & National traitor Anthony Albanese went viral for being attacked, shouted and screamed at when he visited a mosque - the question is asked - if he felt safe - then why did he need a 20 man security team? Listen to the Marxist Minister - The Left have formed and an unholy alliance with Islam everywhere, by design. It doesn’t end well for anyone.

This is a great account for helping to keep track of what is going on in Iran
J.T. Alexander@JTAlexander_

Major notes from the weekend on Iran: 1) Combined Force strikes started hitting IRGC Ground Forces units in the Kurdish regions. 2) We have confirmed that IRGC members are at least two cycles behind on pay. 3) *Coincidentally,* I'm sure, the IRGC Ground Forces Commander went on a tour visiting these forces. In combination, these three notes indicate a high risk of desertion throughout the IRGC. 4) Separately, we have the attack on Diego Garcia that, frankly, justifies the war in and of itself. The base itself isn't terribly significant, its not that "Iran can get Diego Garcia! We have to go to war!" The issue is that Iran constantly lies about everything to do with its nuclear program. Taqiyya. They've issued fatwas against nuclear weapons, then simultaneously enrich uranium to levels only usable in weapons while developing long-range ballistic missiles. "Its for medical purposes!" No, it wasn't, and it couldn't be. Uranium enriched to this degree has no medical uses. "Its for self-defense!" Then why were you hiding a long range ballistic missile capable of delivering a nuclear weapon to London? The fact they were developing these weapons while consistently lying about it, in the face of all the world being united against their acquisition of the weapons, combined with all of their past acts of terrorism and piracy, absolutely justifies this war. 5) On Negotiations: These are being played very close to the chest, but here's what I've been able to gather... Witkoff and Kushner are keeping lines of communication open with non-IRGC elements of the Iranian State—if I had to guess, I'd expect officials within the Republican Government. If not Pezeshkian himself, then probably people with access to him. It seems abundantly clear that the situation in Iran is at this point A Tale of Two Cities. One is an IRGC-Cleric alliance propping up the corpse of the Velayat-e Faqih. The other is the Republican-Reform alliance propping up the still in-tact organs of state outside of the IRGC's control. We are almost certainly negotiating with one of these 'cities,' and not the other. This is what I expected would be the prelude to final resolution. The existing power structures in Iran will continue to pull support away from, and rallying support against, the IRGC. At this point, it appears the plan is to reach a pre-negotiated settlement with the Republican-Reform Government while hammering the IRGC on all available fronts and enabling a fairly smooth transition of power. Mass uprising is probably now the backup plan, with total dismantling of Iran's infrastructure the backup to the backup plan.
