I can’t believe this. This dude completely scammed my insurance company. His friend dumped him out of his wheelchair right in front of my truck while I was stopped at a light, not moving. The cops came, saw that there was no damage to his chair or my car and he was totally fine according to the paramedics who arrived. I told the cops it was a scam, that my car never touched him or his chair. His friend ran, he refused to go to the hospital, the cops took my info & insurance and the police report said there was no evidence of any accident or injury. I spoke with the insurance and told them it was a scam and to not pay anything. ~6 months later, my insurance payments more than doubled. I went into their app and found out @progressive paid this con artist $41,426 for an imaginary injury and the most expensive wheelchair in frickin’ existence! And now I’m paying for their stupidity. I’m done with these bozos. Ridiculous. 🤦‍♂️

The first time I visited San Francisco, I was eating a burger on the patio of some fast casual spot when a homeless guy came up and asked me to buy him a burger and fries. Normally I ignore it, but I was feeling generous. I went inside, ordered it, came back out, and handed it to him. He opens the burger, sees onions, immediately starts yelling at me, and then throws the whole thing on the ground. While he’s screaming about the onions, the owner comes out with a broom and chases him off. That was the last time I ever went out of my way to buy a homeless person food.

Update: Wednesday The department-wide meeting I was not invited I went anyway 8am Walked in Legal pad in hand The room was full Not just HR Not just finance The entire floor Someone from marketing was there She had "Identified Adjective: Creative" in her email signature I've never met her HR stood at the front PowerPoint on the screen Slide one: "Email Signature Policy: Clarification & Compliance" I sat in the front row HR looked at me I opened my legal pad She began "Effective immediately, the email signature policy will require identified pronouns only. Adjectives are not included." I raised my hand She said "we're not taking questions yet" I said "it's not a question. It's a point of order. The current policy says 'identified.' It does not specify a part of speech. You're changing the policy, not clarifying it." Legal was in the back of the room He nodded Again HR said "we've updated the language" I said "when" She said "this morning" I said "so the policy I complied with yesterday is no longer the policy today" She said "correct" I said "and I'm the one being non-compliant" The room was quiet The controller raised his hand He said "so do I remove 'Tired' or not" Someone in the back laughed HR did not laugh The analyst was standing in the doorway I didn't invite him He came anyway He was holding a legal pad I looked at him He looked at me I didn't say anything But I noted it HR said "going forward, signatures will include name, title, and identified pronouns. After I sold my house back in January, I am like, maybe I should just not buy a new place to live this time? Just rent/live in AirBnbs and hotels + invest in crypto/stocks. If AI will be as massive as I think, then real estate doesn't feel like the best bet going forward.
