@masseffect_peom Whenever execs say they want it to appeal to non-gamers, it just means they wanna have more action, less sci-fi lore (in a fucking sci-fi series, yes, I know), more jokes and probably more product placement thrown in. Halo is the best example of that.

I'm guessing they meant one of two things: a) Make it appeal to "modern audiences". Everyone knows what that means because of the culture war, but ironically, Mass Effect is more receptive/naturally suited to that compared to other franchises. The Asari were already "non-binary" back in 2007, and your gay romance was Liara. But it needs to be done right, which is rarely the case because writers prioritize it over telling good stories. b) Make it appeal to TikTok addicts with low attention spans and zero media literacy. This is the worst outcome. That "audience" can still be attracted by accident, and then the show suffers like House of the Dragon does, but at least there will be people who appreciate it. By dumbing things down, it'll either fade into the cultural abyss and be forgotten because of its mediocrity, or end up cancelled. Either way, @GambleMike please intervene! Unlike Fallout, Mass Effect has some dense lore, and TV viewers can't sit there and read the codex entries. The quality of worldbuilding is vital.
