@avidseries i don't like any but Putin should be the obvious answer. really sent russia back to the stone age and sent 10s of 1000s of russians and ukrainians to their deaths for a pointless war

I heard an incredible analogy from a VC friend that I can’t stop thinking about. “The moat in software was the cost of building software. And Claude Code just mass produced a bridge.” It’s wild when you think about the impact of this. The SaaS boom produced a few dozen billionaires and a bunch of zero sum winners. But the AI SaaS era will mass produce millionaires. There will be fewer ServiceTitans hitting $5B valuations, and instead there will be 50,000 companies doing $500K-$5M each, run by 1-3 people with deep expertise and huge margins. To be clear, I believe that the total value of software goes up, and the number of companies created goes up exponentially. But the number of people who capture the value also goes up 100x. I don’t believe in the “SaaS is dying” headline, I think it’s missing the point. It’s simply that the power of SaaS is changing hands.

Costco CEO Ron Vachris did the “CEO eats his own product” challenge by destroying a hot dog (and confirms the Costco hot dog combo is staying at $1.50 forever). Legend.

@tomfgoodwin my company (in data/AI space) is shipping things faster because of vibecoding. so the 'benefit' that customers get is they get new features sooner. But this is not necessarily something consumers notice unless they pay attention.

I'm going to call this right now. We are going to have a large population with absolutely no critical thinking skills if they blindly trust AI for everything. We have all already seen it. They don't validate outputs. They don't really understand anything. They just ask questions, it looks good, and they go with it. There are going to be huge issues in every company as this continues over the years. The amount of technical debt and knowledge gaps are going to be insane. So much opportunity if you actually know what you're doing.

@DeanTTraining is 8 sets of chest per week enough? I usually read it needs to be at least 12 sets for optimal progression. i myself do 4 chest exercises per week, 3 sets 8-12 rep range each, but open to change

Said it before, I’ll say it again: 4 sets of Chest on Monday + 4 sets of Chest on Thursday >>> 8 sets of Chest on Monday + 0 sets of Chest on Thursday I figured this out when I was 15 just by thinking about it for 30 seconds Tons of 40 year old grown men have yet to do so SAD

@drgurner problem is people don't go to interviews where they get pushback. there is no incentive at all for interviewers to push back.

The island of Lindau, Germany (pop. 3,000), sees 115 train departures per day. The entire state of Texas and all of its cities combined, by comparison, sees 56 daily Amtrak departures.

If you do NOT have a pulley-based or plate-loaded 45° Extension Machine, here’s how you’ll do them instead: Video 1 = Hold plate stack with arms suspended Video 2 = Weight held at head Video 3 = Single leg (you can add load just like Video 1 or Video 2 shows)

@zeeg Not what I see; I work for a large data/AI company. * some engineering teams are building products that are 95% vibecoded and it cut time to ship in half * in GTM, sales engineers can churn out beautiful bespoke customer demos within days, which took months before.

im fully convinced that LLMs are not an actual net productivity boost (today) they remove the barrier to get started, but they create increasingly complex software which does not appear to be maintainable so far, in my situations, they appear to slow down long term velocity

1/4 LLMs solve research grade math problems but struggle with basic calculations. We bridge this gap by turning them to computers. We built a computer INSIDE a transformer that can run programs for millions of steps in seconds solving even the hardest Sudokus with 100% accuracy

@ScamBFraud @mnolangray No shade to Singapore because I find its multiculturalism fascinating and it looks very nice. It just feels like it would be like a video game map, you go far enough in any direction and it just stops.

@L0FI_beasts @mnolangray it's fine because great airport and the city actually has a lot of green spaces. but yes sometimes it feels constraining. can't easily take a car and just explore.
