I had the honor of meeting my favorite solopreneur @jackfriks. We spent 3 days at Stripe Sessions, explored SF, and went to the gym. He’s exactly how you’d expect: kind, smart, and simple. What struck me most is how mature Jack is. He’s only 26, runs a $30K MRR business, and is engaged to his warm, kind fiancée (at 26, I was lost and drunk in a club in Korea). We all know Jack for his SaaS and UGC content, but he told me he dropped out of college to build a YouTube channel. That’s how he made his first few thousand dollars. Then at 23, he started building startups in public, and in less than 3 years: - taught himself to code - built 10+ apps - got millions of views - built assets that could retire him Jack found a balance between work and life, and as someone who figured things out late, it’s inspiring to see someone this young with that level of clarity. To quote him: just keep going :)

I'm really struggling with creating App Store mock up images So far I tried: - Figma AI feature (couldn't export it on free plan) - Claude Design (also couldn't export it anywhere) - AppLaunchPad (same) I can't find any meaningful advice on this online and I'm just not a UX designer so it's a pain haha I think I'm going to give Canva a go and if need be pay for a premium feature to just get this done and over with lol

Marketing the existing one before building new. Switching to build mode when marketing gets hard is the most expensive avoidance pattern in indie dev.

I've been stuck where I don't wanna develop anything because i have to marketing, no viral posts so far. Should I improve existing apps in the meanwhile, develop new apps or just focus on marketing?

MARKETING > BUILDING. You don’t need a better product. You need more people to see it. Ship fast. Post daily. Iterate from feedback. The winner isn’t the smartest it’s the one who doesn’t stop.

Be like this guy he cracked organic content with UGC and successfully ran paid ads. He wasn’t very active on X, and when he came back to post, he had already reached $1M MRR. Crazy. Maybe if I hit $1M MRR like this, I’d disappear too lol. 😌
