I don’t want to see this happen, but it’s a prediction… we’ll see malware that destroys existing GPUs or machines that can do decent compute or run local AI models. Imagine, not state-backed malware, but corp-backed i.e. get people off their devices and into the cloud.

A roofing company is using AI agents to pull satellite imagery, cross-reference hail damage, and feed warm leads to their sales team. They're not a tech company. They're roofers. Who's next?

Semi-serious, idk may delete later, but why are we using packages when Claude can just write everything for us - it’s flawless ya know

🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages. The latest axios@1.14.1 now pulls in plain-crypto-js@4.2.1, a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise. This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now. Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that: • Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime • Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis • Executes decoded shell commands • Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories • Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.

@CollinRugg Help me understand how she doesn't think his being in public isn't a "poor impact" on the innocent people around him.

NEW: San Francisco judge Linda Colfax has released a man who fatally assaulted an 84-year-old because the prison sentence would have a "poor impact" on him. 25-year-old Antoine Watson was granted probation just two months after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and assault. Watson violently assaulted Vicha Ratanapakdee in 2021, which resulted in his death just two days later. He was acquitted of first-and second-degree murder charges and instead convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Colfax says Watson being in prison would have a "poor impact" on him and didn't think he should be there because he "expressed remorse," according to the SF Chronicle. Colfax is accused of hiding details from the jury in an apparent effort to help Watson escape prison time. Infuriating and evil.

@StevenSimoni @allencontrol Suggestions to software guys looking into hardware/electrical? I’ve seen some cool software that simulates the hardware side for prototyping and (for me at least) learning. How much is done virtually before physical work?

I work with AI agents daily. It is becoming more and more difficult to tell between when answers look right and are right, and when they look right and are wrong. Even more difficult: when answers look right but are suboptimal. Take the human out of the loop at your own risk.

@jarredsumner It’d be great to have an API with this that allows for efficient extraction of elements or text and to also interact with the page (I don’t want to have to parse screenshots or have to pull a snapshot of the whole DOM tree) - am looking forward to this!

also: this involved lots of reverse-engineering to make the browser think it’s not headless. so that visibilityState reports visible. requestAnimationFrame runs. CSS animations run. so it looks/feels externally like the an actual browser
