Exciting news! 🔥 This is the tool I've always dreamed of for finding new startup ideas based on world events. Now available for anyone to use, it scans the web 24/7 for news and recommends ventures to launch. #buildinpublic #indiehackers #startups

Some people criticize Garry, but this excerpt from the latest Social Radars episode is a good example of how insiders feel about how he's doing. The 3 of us in this conversation are 3/5 of YC's board.
Garry Tan@garrytan

I am so thankful for @paulg @jesslivingston @bchesky @cjoneslevy for believing me and selecting me to be the President & CEO of YC. To be able to lead this brilliant band of partners is beyond the best job I’ve ever had! If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life

@tibo_maker how do you keep maintaining and shipping new stuff for each one , sounds impossible to me to focus on more than one thing?

yes, I crossed $1,000,000 / month was trying to keep it quiet but it got leaked on a pod so... let's go quick backstory: I sold Tweet Hunter and Taplio for $8m in 2024 then got back to work and honestly, I was terrified when you set a standard for yourself, you have to live by it and that pressure is real every single thing I shipped felt scary - I felt like a fraud, "the lucky guy who got acquired once" every launch, I kept thinking: what if it flops? what if I go from "the guy who exited" to just... a nobody? so I forced myself to ship a ton a lot failed I was embarrassed by the bugs in my MVPs but I kept going Revid, Outrank, SuperX, PostSyncer, Feather -> five products thriving today they do more than anything I've ever built before grateful to my co-makers, to the team, and to everyone following along, giving feedback, using the products every day thank you, genuinely 🙏

@levelsio "You" ➡️ IP your Internet provider assigns you; not your servers IPs. If you had a static IP I'd like to know why you prefer Tailscale over just adding e.g. your company IP to the firewalls SSH whitelist.

A startup is a lonely place. You are working on something that no one believes in, that you’ve been told time and time again will never work. It’s you against the world. But the reality is that you can’t really do it on your own. You need to enlist help. Bring others around to your way of thinking. And let them share in your enthusiasm.

Full evals system coming to GStack shortly. LLM evals are the only way you can make fully agentic systems that are repeatably better as you improve the workflow, context engineering and prompts.

@milesdeutscher I dont think so to me chatgpt specially since gpt 5 release has been so bad. Claude on the other hand 10x smarter responses everytime.

GPT is smarter than Claude. There, I said it. When it comes to a big strategic business or life decision, I trust GPT 5.4 over Opus 4.6. Best combo: I use GPT for strategy, and Opus for execution.

@snowmaker yeah I get that too, I still find it hard balancing between when is ok to let my agent own a specific implementation and when to check everything they wrote. Sometimes I one shot very complex UI and to be honest I dont read it unless I see bugs.

I realized something else AI has changed about coding: you don't get stuck anymore. Programming used to be punctuated by episodes of extreme frustration, when a tricky bug ground things to a halt. That doesn't happen anymore.

I made an app to turn web analytics into a Severance episode. Every page on your site is a department. /pricing is a department. /blog is a department. Your visitors are innies now. When they visit your site, they arrive through the elevator. When they navigate to another page, they walk to the next department. When they bounce, they walk out. It's called MACRODATA: macrodata.datafa.st

Very impressed by @supabase's growth. For new startups, they seem to have gone from "promising" to "standard" in remarkably short order.

It's a fork of Judaism mixed with Buddhism Jesus went missing from age 12 to 30 (the lost years) A new theory is he literally became a hippie and went to India to study Buddhism Then he forked Judaism and added Buddhist elements (compassion, share, forgive, no ego) and came back to Jerusalem to start his own cult and that became Christianity Catholicism is just the hierarchical church version of his cult TL;DR Jesus was a Jewish hippie that went backpacking in India I think
bayes@bayeslord
