@PluffyJoy @AgainstAtheismX Saved? I don't think you understand. Even if you believed in this god and this Bible, why would one want to worship and spend eternity with a god that sends she-bears to murder children and murders millions more people in such evil ways.
English

@AgainstAtheismX Didn't Penn Jillette became an atheist after reading the Bible? I'm not an atheist and hope Penn Jillette becomes a Christian, but isn't possible that at least a few atheist read the Bible entirely, though sadly won't saved.
English

@darwintojesus Still waiting to hear how believing in a megamurdering god gives you objective morality? In other words, what moral act(s) give you objective morality and elevate you above the world of opinion and subjectivity?
Been asking for years, not one scared little Christian can answer
English

Your morality is better… according to what? Your personal opinion?
Greg K@gjk100
@darwintojesus You forget “Intellectual Honesty” “Higher IQ” “Morality better than that of blindly obedient religious nutters”
English

@darwintojesus @Jabert00 @MentallyNathan How does believing in a god give you objective morality?
Even if there were some god judge (there's not), judges are not above it all--especially judges that are claimed to be omnibenevolent.
English

There’s no contradiction, you’re conflating the idea that if I would do something therefore it’s right and then you also are under this assumption that God is under the exact same obligations as me, when I’ve never said that. God is a judge, I am not. So you’re simply all over the place here and totally twisted up in misunderstandings
English

The Bible is the only reason you think slavery is immoral in the first place
ApostateNate@MentallyNathan
the bible tells you how much you can physically abuse your slave
English

@TheBTCTherapist You think its just an AI bubble.
Bitcoin could be a bubble if AI starts falling.
English

@AlanJ_Robinson @RockChartrand @elonmusk DOGE was supposed to save trillions and return 20% of the savings back to the people as a stimulus check. Neither of those things happened. Many people have alleged more than "zero evidence" as shown below.

English

First of all, its estimated DOGE has saved US taxpayers approximately $100B - $215B depending on who you believe.
But, lets play the game.
There is zero evidence that the DOGE team retaining data is true. But say they do have peoples info. Whats your point? What would they do with it that would be a problem? These are people that likely make more money in a year than you'll make in a lifetime.
What is your fear? Is it realistic?
English

The outrage today is essentially:
"An African immigrant came to America, built multiple companies, became one the richest person in history, and achieved more success than we find acceptable."
For people who claim to celebrate opportunity, diversity, immigration, and the American Dream, it's a remarkably strange thing to be angry about.
The objection isn't that he failed.
It's that he succeeded.
English

@AlanJ_Robinson @RockChartrand @elonmusk It may only take one mistake for AI to "escape" and due great harm. One possible lab leak may have killed millions with Covid 19. Elon's cybertruck is a great flop and does not live up to expectations. Cannot afford mistakes whether Elon or other overambitious individuals.
English

@AlanJ_Robinson @RockChartrand @elonmusk There is a race to win the battle of AI and not fall behind financially because a lack of AI. The book, "If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies" is very good. What does Elon have to do with it?
1 of 2 or 3
English

@AlanJ_Robinson @RockChartrand @elonmusk "Super" AI with Quantum will be able map individual genomes in minutes & create cures or viruses if they wish. Likely access vulnerable financial records & hire bad actors if they wish. Not a time to trust people with ambitions that can outpace their understanding of technology.
English

Ah, I see, the old moving the goalposts routine. If you can move the goalposts, so can I.
So your concerned about a person, @elonmusk , that was completely transparent and public about his DOGE work, but you aren't concerned about Pelosi and her husbands high returns on stock trades based on insider information? Or the late or improper disclosures by Feinstein or Hickenlooper?
How he succeeded is because people trust him to deliver. It's not market magic. It's exceptional intelligence, relentless execution, and navigating real risks.
I would trust him with my money over you, or any other government or individual in the world. He can have my personal information too. But it would be useless to him, as would yours. And the fact that a little common sense would tell you this, makes you look stupid.
English

@AlanJ_Robinson @RockChartrand @elonmusk I am glad you are so trusting of Musk. Hope that works out for you. But, a healthy skepticism of having extra people with almost unlimited resources with almost unlimited access to our records is a problem for me. This combo is definitely a threat when put into the context of AI.
English

@AlanJ_Robinson @RockChartrand The government is what I am more interested in. Special rules, laws, access & lack of justice for the rich&powerful. In Elon's case (among other things), he was able to have a whole team with Administrative Level to our records during DOGE? The unchecked dangers of AI and so on.
English

@author_Wallace @RockChartrand Lets say things we can't back up, and then disappear into the void of ideology...
English

@David_Kicinski @ImGenuinelyMe Actually, many athiests believe that a collection of books written over thousands of years does have some historical accuracy mixed in.
Some local flooding, ark of the covenant may have existed on some level, nephilim & angels may be exagerrated & misidentified alien life??
English

@ImGenuinelyMe Yes that's correct.
If they're going to use the Bible to make an argument, use ALL of it (in which case you'd need a basic understanding of its fundamental concepts).
English

@David_Kicinski "seen and heard"
So, the writers saw a talking snake, a man living inside a fish, a woman turned to stone, a global flood with millions of animals in an impossibly small boat...on & on
Nonfiction science require proof, testing, verification, etc--evidence
They are not the same
English

@RockChartrand @TheRealJChubby Correct, but, you never touch on the other side
Many rich people became rich by one or more of getting almost free money by the govt.(banks), lending to the govt.(private bankers), pay no income taxes, getting vast natural resources from the people(water, rare earths, oil, etc.)
English

Because nothing says fairness like forcing other people to sacrifice more so you can continue living at their expense.
The most revealing thing about the proposal is that it abandons the pretense that Social Security is your money being returned to you.
The moment the cap is removed, it becomes explicit redistribution.
The argument stops being, "You get back what you paid in."
It becomes, "Someone else should pay more so I can keep getting what I want."
That's not insurance.
That's dependency financed by politics.
English

This is fake. We just need to lift the cap on social security taxable income and make rich people play their fair share.
unusual_whales@unusual_whales
Social Security has less than 10 years before reserves are exhausted, per FOX
English

@RockChartrand We have never solved the problem of land & property. So many countries were formed with force and violence. We have all the undercurrents before you even talk about who owns the natural resources? Citizens? How do citizens get reimbursed or heard regarding natural resources.
English

They skipped over two important questions:
1. Who is committing the child slavery?
2. Who exactly was robbed?
If the government sold the mining rights, collected the money, and taxed the operation, then it wasn't theft.
If corrupt officials stole the proceeds from their own people, then the thief isn't the company buying cobalt. It's the corrupt government they keep pretending has no agency.
Power to the People ☭🕊@ProudSocialist
New video explaining how capitalism is maintained through imperialism and the theft of resources from third world countries. This is why the U.S. is always at war and has over 800 military bases worldwide to ensure corporations can keep extracting resources from these countries.
English

@TheBTCTherapist 1K to 10K takes up as much scale space as 10K to 100K. When you have manipulate and lie on the scaling then the "model" is a lie.
Bitcoin only has scarcity to offer. A penny is currency also. Being worth more than an ounce of gold is an undeserved bull run for Bitcoin.
English

@darwintojesus Why did god murder millions of men, women & children in the fictional Bible? Jesus murdered 2 children in the Infant Gospel of Thomas?
Before you tell me that the last book was Apocryphal, remember Catholic priests "canonized" certain books & left others out. We know why
English

@JesseOlson @TheBTCTherapist Yet, besides scarcity, what does Bitcoin offer? A currency? A penny is currency...
English

@TheBTCTherapist Please sir, for my family. Don't drop $BTC -99%.
