@bluebirdk7 @otboae I was lucky enough to see her first powered run on Bute. It was clear that the whole team were passionate about their work and that K7 was being cared for by people who had hard-earned experience of her unique systems. I'm angry, so I can't imagine how your team feel.

It has been an utter disaster so far, & for no reason. All they had to do was agree the original deal or a renegotiated version thereof & that boat would be fighting fit with an expert team to look after it & make it go. The clock is ticking.

If you are in need of having a new boiler installed think twice before considering @BritishGas. They don’t keep their word and their work is substandard leaving leaks and electrical faults which they are in no hurry to rectify

There was a piece about the planned runs of K7 at Coniston in May on ITV Granada Reports (local news) this evening. The story was all about the tourism side of things, 20,000 visitors. Nothing about testing or getting the craft ready for “speeds up to 100 mph”. @bluebirdk7

We warned them that bags, zips & buttons would soon scuff the paint & to keep people off. They didn't listen so that's exactly what's happened but surely K7 hasn't fallen into such disrepair that they need paint already?
Any thoughts?

The current canopy isn't anywhere near the correct shape, construction or fitment. Is it just a case now of 'that will do' as 99.9% of the RRMs visitors won't notice? Why not construct a 'display canopy' that is correct?

K7 is unimpressive at low speed. Been there, done that, wear the tee-shirt in the workshop.
Imagine the depth of disappointment if she did 10mph in a pointless week in May. It would be a masterclass in underwhelming.

@bluebirdk7 Is it possible that the RM plan to run K7 on Coniston at such slow speed the aesthetically horrendous canopy is really just for show . Im by no means making excuses for them here it’s horrific what they have done to K7 & to destroy the old foam which BBP recovered/reused🤬🤬🤬

@nikigaunt @bluebirdk7 I think the RM and it's 'engineering partners' are doing a good enough job on their own dragging the story down. Infact with the recent canopy addition its become even less of a story and more of a joke book 😩

@novie03509937 @bluebirdk7 If this is the standard of engineering going forwards then I wouldn't fancy sitting in the pilots seat and pressing the loud pedal! I can see this all going wrong and ending up on the bed of Coniston. Does anyone know of a team of people able to recover it? 🤔

Doesn't fit anywhere & that rear frame is crucial. Needs a smooth, uniform face into the inlets & the chamfer bedded into the foam stops it chattering at high power settings. & that's without the tsunami that would get in everywhere. You wouldn't dare run above idle with that.
