Reprised Pantheon encounters have a chance to reward Universal Armor Ornaments for their original armor sets. Keep an eye out for the Luxurious Toast emote as part of Calus' encounter. Gather your fireteam and play through the Pantheon.

007 First Light cost around 200 million. It debuted on Steam with around 70k players. Last night it was running with around 7k players, and it's only been out for a month. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth cost 120 million to make. It debuted with around 40k players. Marathon cost 250 million It debuted with 88k players. So basically, if you spend twice as much, you'll get twice as much. The studios with much smaller budgets who do WAY better, like Pearl Abyss and Crimson Desert - those are ANOMALIES. We're talking the top .001% of success in gaming! That's not what happens with MOST AAA games.

I think one thing that's frustrating about the Destiny community jumping on the hate-wagon for Marathon - I don't think they realize they're being coopted by a movement of people who DO NOT share their views. The people who started this protest of "Marathon" are people who actually hate Bungie, and they want to watch it burn (for whatever reason). So now the Destiny guys are like, "Screw Marathon... this game SUCKS! WHY NO DESTINY?" Because you're being used by people to destroy the company who made the game you play. You don't share commonality with them at all.. It's like queers for Palestine. You know where this road leads, right? They think that by protesting Marathon, they'll entice Bungie into making another Destiny - when reality couldn't be FURTHER from the truth. If you hurt Bungie's bottom line, they can't make new games. It's like how you see politicians flying around on private jets, lecturing you about your carbon footprint - when one of their flights has a bigger carbon footprint than a person will, all year (I actually looked this up)... They mascaraed as the solution, while making the problem worse. Imagine if Capcom was like, "Hey, I know ya'll really like Resident Evil..... but we're making a Street Fighter game this year..." and the entire community erupted into a mass protest of Street Fighter, putting Capom potentially at risk of bankruptcy... That's how dumb these gamer protests are.

@Turbolunch @IGN Crazy because capcom over here claiming 60% of sales come from pc kinda weird because it’s very easy to pirate a pc game right? Almost like waiting 2 years to release a port for full price is a bad business strategy instead of releasing day one

It's crazy to me to think that the Zero Hour exotic mission was funded by the Whisper of the Worm ornament sales in Eververse during some of the lowest periods in Destiny, yet for years upon years between Beyond Light & Lightfall when playercounts were consistently higher, we never got anything else like this that was "free" unless you count Into the Light. Where did all that money go to? Oh yeah.. Marathon and multiple cancelled incubation projects. My bad. #WeWantDestiny3

Got some people thinking I’m targeting this indie dev directly. Not even a bit. I’ve got nothing but love for indie devs, and my comments about a D3 is directly targeting PlayStation and Sony — hence why I comment on PlayStations accounts. However, the game does look good, and it’s got great reviews on Steam. We’ll be giving away copies of it tomorrow while we play through it on stream for the first time. See you all then 😁

Taking shots at indie devs' passion projects in a completely different genre is straight up a bad look my man. I'm not sorry to say it, you gotta chill bro. It's one thing to be upset about Destiny, it's another to use your influence to sabotage other devs in what would be for all of them a triumphant moment having their work shared by Playstation.

@LN4Conor @SaltagreppoD2 I know what revenue projections are. I can guarantee you these are not the finance numbers for Bungie. They laid off like 300 people later that year. They were not profitable.

This community note is so dumb. Missing revenue projections does in no way mean not making profit, and saying that RIGHT NOW it costs more to support than it makes, yeah, I’m sure with how bad year of the Prophecy was, but D2 obviously printed money when it was supported.
Aztecross@Aztecross

This stopped looking like a business decision a while ago. Destiny is profitable. Bungie is valuable. Walking away from both isn’t the market talking — it’s Sony choosing to burn down an era rather than admit any part of it worked.

@Charamander459 So you're not buying almost any games. Most games are made with Unreal Engine and Unity. Guess what? Both are using Gen AI currently and do plan to keep using it. So you're repository of games is really small if you avoid them

Half the community is going to hate me for saying this, but the only way to keep Bungie alive right now is to support Marathon. People keep comparing Marathon numbers to Destiny and frankly, that's ignorant. Marathon was never designed to do Bungie numbers. The conversations about that were very upfront early. It's more aligned with Tarkov than Destiny. Completely different target markets that just so happen to have a wide intersection with Destiny target markets since it uniquely has so many.

@keronage @samikatplays Bungie was below the red line before the Sony acquisition. If it wasn’t acquired right then, the studio was very close to shutting its doors at the very least on Destiny. It was an emergency acquisition

Former Bungie community manager Liana Ruppert discussed criticism of Marathon and comparisons to Destiny 2. She said supporting Marathon is “the only path forward right now” for fans wanting future projects, including a possible Destiny 3. She said people are “comparing apples to oranges” when using Destiny 2’s player numbers to judge Marathon, as it is an extraction shooter for a smaller audience, similar to Escape from Tarkov. Destiny players are mad and said they don't want to buy or play a game just to support Bungie.

@TechnoVikingGA @cardog44 @Aztecross 3.6 billion is 16.36% of Sonys annual revenue that is not an amount that any company can just burn nor is Sony stupid enough to panic buy anything you don’t get to be a titan of the industry by being loose with your money and folding to pressure

@cardog44 @Aztecross SONY bought an idea, they should have done more due diligence beforehand, but that's how it works for these larger companies with money to burn. They panic acquired Bungie and then found out later it was a really bad deal.

Here's my problem with the "emergency acquisition" narrative: every single person in a position to know the financials had tens of millions of reasons to push it. Marty said on Act Man he made out well when Sony bought his stock. Barrett's lawsuit says he was owed ~$45-50M from the deal. The bigger the crisis story, the easier the sale. Maybe it's true! But nobody outside leadership has ever shown the actual numbers, and "trust me, we were dying" from people who got rich off the deal isn't evidence.
