Yes. If you see a neglected farm owned by a drunk farmer who beats his wife and decide to kill him, seize the farm, and take his widow - and ultimately turn the farm into a productive enterprise and have two children with the widow should you be allowed to keep it? Allowing people to break the law and rewarding it for them removes all deterrence.

If someone enters your country illegally but finds work, raises a family and contributes to society.... Should they be deported?
