@BobDuncan9751 @VthTake There are a lot of great hockey fans out there. I don't mind if they disagree with me. Debate is healthy and my judgement is no better/worse than others. I may have more rule insight but many fans have legit gripes.I can always block or mute as opposed to throwing a left.....

I'll say this, you can't find a person more critical of officials than me, I guarantee it. But, the fact that @ESPNRefNHL gets on here every day and spars with the common folk deserves immense recognition.

@trollinbfibs Clearly. Each hookstarted with not hooking the player but finished with holding the stick. While we're not talking about original situation 2 try 2 make arguments valid youcould po that when a player is barely touched and falls like dead weight, that won't ever be embellishment.

@whopper014 I guess every hooking call in history where a player tucked the stick with his elbow should’ve been a non call, and instead called the other way for holding the stick.

Not making excuses for the #CBJ but it’s been said they aren’t getting any help from the officials. This might be on of the more egregious no-calls I’ve seen so far.
Ed Francis@BlueJacketStats

The #CBJ got a power play seconds later, but what you are about to see was *not* called a penalty.

@yourewrognitsok @ESPNRefNHL @Aportzline Ha ha. You're actually the voice of reason wrog... jumping in and crapping on people because you feel like calling people out. Maybe let Aaron come back at Dave if he was wronged. And before you say it, I know I'm doing the same thing. I don't mind.

Saw much outrage a penalty wasn't called on Carolina's Jackson Blake mid 2nd when he took down #CBJ Conor Garland. For me, the right call(s) would have been offsetting minors: - holding on Garland (he had Blake's right arm, wouldn't let go) - roughing on Blake for the piledrive

@trollinbfibs @ESPNRefNHL @schudel_ralph At best the good take is call em both, Blake for a mystery hold and Garland for a clear hold. That's at best, though. The real good take is not too crap on somebody for their insight into what's happening, especially when someone asked him for his opinion.

@ESPNRefNHL @schudel_ralph That’s worse. You admit you’re defending it only b/c people are pissed. Sure, I’ve seen worse calls and no calls over my years The good take would’ve have been “yep, Missed that one, they’re human, can’t shoot 100% in this league”

@whopper014 @ESPNRefNHL @schudel_ralph The arm that’s wrapped around him? How many times do guys hold the stick when it’s Hooked around the torso? All the time. Even if you make that argument it’s offsetting holding minors with an additional 2 to Blake for roughing. My eyes are fine.

@trollinbfibs @ESPNRefNHL @schudel_ralph If you watch the video from the other side, it's quite clear that Conor Garland is holding Blake's hand under his arm quite strongly for a good 10 seconds at minimum. If you can't see that then there is an eye doctor or there lying to you.

@ESPNRefNHL @schudel_ralph You will always take the refs side Dave. He could’ve stabbed him with a skate blade and we’d have to hear you whine about how hard the job is and how they’re the best in the world. Take the L, say it was an awful no-call, and move on. What bs to publicly downplay that one.

@UnionAndBlue But Garland is doing all of the holding. Blake is coming for the ride. Penalty for holding on Garland, play ends, everything else doesn't matter. Re watch the video. Also, I would much prefer CBJ success over Carolina.

Re: the missed tackle on Conor Garland. I have no problem with them letting the holding down the wall go uncalled. Both players are holding, that is true. Where the penalty occurred was when Jackson Blake reached his left arm around and tackled Garland to the ice. #CBJ
Pierce Gearhart@piercegearhart

@UnionAndBlue Damn you guys really don’t know how hockey works. Find the other angle. CBJ player was holding onto the Canes player, not the other way around. Don’t get me wrong if it was a bad call, I’d be right there with you. But it simply wasn’t a penalty.

@UnionAndBlue @TheUBSoldiers Fellas, what I’ve learned in the last 24 hours is that Canes twitter is among the more delusional fanbases in the league. Not sure how far the CBJ will go this year, but am looking forward to the Canes inevitable second round collapse.

@BrianHedger No no no, That wasn’t a make up call. Carolina took 2 penalties within 15 seconds of each other and the refs only called one of them. The refs and the league do not respect this team.

Corey Syvret, ladies and gentlemen. Also blew a clear boarding call when Miller shoved Wood headfirst into the half wall. Finally, other ref, Furman South (not a HS West of Chicago) called a weak hooking minor on Stankoven as a makeup. #CBJ

@ESPNRefNHL @whopper014 The Fact that you, Josh, have to ask WHICH is proving a huge point. 🤣👎🤢. I don’t think Dave was going to agree with that call. Because John said they have a case. Dave said, yeah John, and had to stop because The Review took an odd 20 seconds or so. So, of course he agreed. 😉

WRONG AGAIN. Change The Rule For Goalie Interference. You didn’t get a chance to give what you thought until AFTER The Call. That was about 20 Seconds on The Headset. How could they know that fast? Change The Rule… PLEASE. Sickening. 🤮🤢. #NHL #Penguins #NHLOnESPN @ESPNRefNHL

@Macman12333 Huh? How does that translate to what you're saying. It's the ref saying that after seeing the replay he knows there was a missed call. English isn't that tough.

Seriously, the ref came over after , that's pretty much him admitting he knew it was a penalty and it's him saying that if it was any team but the jackets he would have called it , real nice ref 😡😡 #CBJ

#CBJ defenseman Zach Werenski today on @971RandI regarding the actions of Carolina’s Sebastian Aho in Tuesday’s loss to the Canes: “He kind of slew-footed me and kicked the legs out from under me, and I think that's a dirty play. I'm not a fan of that. The ref came up to me after and was like, 'I watched the replay after, yeah it's a slew foot, I should have called a penalty,' but it's too late at that point. … I know he’s not a dirty player, but I thought that was a dirty play."

In what world is this still not egregious? Garland is trying to turn around and Blake picks him up, has him parallel to the ice, and slams him to the ground. But why #CBJ fans are so pissed is because we’ve seen way less get called on the #CBJ for 25 straight years now.

@matt_wilcox773 @ESPNRefNHL @FinnMcCoolOH @Aportzline So, logically because Blake is the bigger player Garland is allowed to hold him and get away with it. Cause Blake should be able to pull his hand free. Connor Garland is one of the most weasel like players in NHL but you're planning on defending his antics here. Laughable.

@ESPNRefNHL @FinnMcCoolOH @Aportzline No. it's not, because Jackson Blake has 20 pounds on him. Garland is one of the lightest players in the league. You expect us to believe Blake truly couldn't get his hand free? Bull. Shit. I've seen this team get screwed over too many times, this is another instance of it.
