Okay, so the idea that #PRAGMATA was developed to awaken paternal instincts and pull Japan back from the brink of declining birthrates seems absurd… until you combine that with @X and @elonmusk deleting communication barriers between Japan and America, then it makes total sense.

@mathillustrated @karenvaites @mikeandallie As a liberal parent, it is essential that you understand the following: telling people they cannot criticize newfangled curriculum or balooning ‘ed-tech’ budgets, is electoral suicide and the surest way to radicalize people against you

1/8 or so. This article has been showing up in my feed quite a bit over the last few days. The one thing I spent a lot of time studying is the claim about 2.8 years of math gains from a 4 week summer camp. Below are just some of the details I found about that claim.

This is the most important thing @KelseyTuoc has written about education, by a city mile. Just read it:

@stepfanie Yes, I'll just start my own high barrier to entry company in a competitive industry. Why didn't I think of magically having the capital inherited from my father to buy all the equipment necessary and to keep my family fed while bussiness picks up.

@Vincent7Dimarco @mert it's not so simple. Your GP would love for you to quit smoking, exercise more and take a statin. But They don't think you will

The answer to this question is simple: the medical system does not make it an objective to prevent disease. They only treat diseases that already exist or very high risk individuals. Only once preventing disease is an actual stated objective will they use first principles to achieve it

talked to 3 cardiologists since this and im left with the obvious question: why isnt the entire population on statins? LDL cholesterol is cumulative damage and irreversible the lower it is the better (without threshold) it seems to be extremely positive EV for anyone?

🇵🇪 This is how right-wing candidate Rafael López Aliaga closed his presidential campaign in Lima: “I’m not a politician, I solve problems. I’m going to reduce the state from 18 ministries to 6. I don’t care about the human rights of murderers; the Tren de Aragua project will be declared a military objective.”

@Drapp64262544 @CryptoMikli Good luck controlling the constellation of hungry biotech moonshot startups. If you can pull that off you should be a mind control illuminati company instead not selling medications as a business model

Martin Shkreli says believing Big Pharma hides cures is a “below 60 IQ take” “If you actually know anything about making medicine, you don’t half-make a medicine. You either make it or you don’t. The idea that companies would hold back a real cure makes no sense, because the first one to solve it wins everything”

To be clear, I would not do arson because I have too many anxieties like "what if I go to jail?" and "what if the fire spreads and a single mom dies of smoke inhalation?" So I vote, I lib out—I stay in my lane.

@kaskarn HHV-8 screening is not sufficiently effective or standardized to reliably rule out future Kaposi sarcoma (KS) risk in someone starting an immunomodulatory therapy like rocatinlimab. Sensitivity and specificity is reported to be all over the place and is generally not reliable.

Kyowa and Amgen have terminated all clinical trials for rocatinlimab, an anti-OX40 antibody for atopic dermatitis, after a safety review linked it to cases of Kaposi sarcoma. The trial patients who developed KS did not have HIV (HIV patients were also excluded from the trial).

Our new study @NatureMedicine from the Human Phenotype Project: Analyzing diet and microbiome data from 10,000+ people, we found that what you eat is strongly linked to which microbes live in your gut, down to specific foods like coffee, yogurt, and milk driving distinct microbial signatures. We also simulate personalized dietary interventions with predicted microbiome shift effects that are associated with improvements in cardiometabolic health Read here: nature.com/articles/s4159… HPP: humanphenotypeproject.org/home
