Yesterday we got a wire for $45k. Did we raise funding? No, we factored some of our MRR on @FounderpathHQ. Factoring is basically getting a year's MRR upfront. It's great for bootstrapped businesses because of cashflow.

@MauryRubin @WillfulWills @getclearco @NathanLatka About two weeks ago(?) Clear is/was great for ad financing, particularly when we were fairly flat growth. Since hitting a decent growth rate, the repayment on Clear has been 2-3 months, which makes clear fairly expensive (for me)

Banks in @WillfulWills early days: "We can't loan you $ b/c you're early (also, please sign over your house).
Banks when you're years in with 7-figure revenue: "We can't loan you $ b/c you don't have AR/recurring revenue."
How do SMBs get non-dilutive funding in this country?!!!

@erinbury @bellastone @WillfulWills @getclearco For SaaS/MRR @NathanLatka ‘s Founder Path has proven to have better terms than Clearbanc (particularly if you’re growing). And the team at FP is exceptional. But yeah... options are few and far between.

Just said to my banker "I appreciate that your risk tolerance is wildly low, but just an FYI that companies like @getclearco are going to eat your lunch on SMB services." In 4 years @getclearco is the ONLY source of non-grant, non-personal guarantee capital I've found.
