@StatisticUrban Kiros is only a year older than me, and DeGette is the last remaining member of CO's delegation who has been in office for longer than I've been alive. One reason why I want to see her lose next week (although I'm not a Kiros supporter).

In CO-01, a deep-blue seat that includes almost all of Denver, 15-term incumbent Diana DeGette has been in Congress longer than her main challenger, 29-year-old progressive Melat Kiros, has been alive.

Colorado's primary on Tuesday features several more tests of the establishment vs. progressives. Here are the big four races. In the heavyweight race, the gubernatorial primary, incumbent Senator Michael Bennett is looking to step down from Congress and enter the governor's mansion. He's the archetypal moderate Democrat, elected in a time when Colorado was a true swing state. He faces Phil Weiser, the state's attorney general and the more progressive option. Polling is close, but Weiser has narrowed the gap and leads in the latest. In the Senate primary, incumbent John Hickenlooper faces progressive challenger Julie Gonzales. Hickenlooper is a former governor and pretty moderate. Dislodging an incumbent senator would be a massive warning shot, but this is probably the heaviest lift for progressives. In CO-01, 15-term incumbent Diana DeGette faces 29-year-old Melat Kiros. Containing almost all of Denver's city limits, the seat is deep blue, the bluest in the Mountain West, and voted for Harris by nearly 60 points. Kiros is a staunch supporter of Palestine. And finally, in CO-08, a crucial swing seat currently occupied by Republican Gabe Evans, Democrats are choosing between Manny Rutinel and the more establishment Shannon Bird. Rutinel is positioning himself as the more progressive option, but both are pretty standard liberals. This is a Latino opportunity district anchored by Greeley and some of the Denver suburbs.

The biggest issue baseball fans want solved to strengthen the game is fixing the payroll disparity that leaves too many fans without hope of their team competing for a World Series title. Every other major U.S. sport has tackled this problem, and every year more small market teams in those leagues have a chance to win. The salary cap and floor proposal levels the playing field, allowing us greater flexibility to address longstanding player priorities while sharing baseball revenue with the players 50/50. Today, in addition to proposing the largest ever increase in the minimum salary, earned by over half of MLB players, we accepted two landmark changes to free agency that have been in place for 50 years. We agreed to both the MLBPA’s proposal to provide earlier access to free agency, and their proposal to eliminate the qualifying offer system, a provision players view as a drag on free agency. We also proposed to eliminate deferred compensation and to create a new “Cornerstone Player” provision similar to the NBA’s “Bird Rights” to give every team a fair shot at retaining their fans’ favorite star players. We will continue working with the MLBPA during the bargaining process to improve the game for teams, players and fans.

@gordonlancaster Moniak and McCarthy should at least net something interesting! Doyle I more so don't list here because I view him more as a platoon/4th OF type and my lineup is against righties.

The post deadline Rockies lineup needs to be at base, C - Goodman 1B - Rumfield 2B - Castro 3B - Karros SS - Tovar LF - Veen CF - Carrigg RF - Condon DH - Johnston/Julien I say "at base" because it doesn't take into account added players. Also doesn't trade Castro/Goodman.

@skraxxy That’s fair bro. I gotta hold on to hope on AA until it’s over. But safe to say Riggio is the near future at the position.

The logline & trailer for Jonathan Majors' new film for The Daily Wire has been revealed: “When radical Islamic terrorists hijack a liberal college’s pro-Palestine encampment to enforce Sharia law on students, a ragtag band of red-blooded students, a security guard tired of ‘Uncle Tom’ smears & a Delta Force vet must arm up to save their clueless peers & keep America from surrendering to the enemy on its own soil.”

As a liberal progressive, I would be fine with the party moving left if these wins were about Medicare for all, reproductive rights, universal childcare, taxing billionaires, and creating affordable housing, But they weren’t.

Mamdani seems like a cool dude who really knows how to vibe with all kinds of folks. This second wave of DSA ppl don't have the same vibe. They're going to say a bunch of shit that scares the hoes and will end up hurting Progressives. This will open a huge lane for Rs in 2028.

Results in NY tonight will have the far left in Denver hyped about the prospect of upsetting Rep Diana DeGette in CO-1 next week. Denver is not NYC and there’s no Mamdami here but Melat Kiros has put together the most serious challenge of DeGette’s 29-year House career.
