I miss Tony. He was so exciting to work with -- always inventive and thrilled to be making a movie. The energy around him was electric. He was generous and collaborative. There's no other filmmaker like him.

@AVARY I worked at his company Totem for a summer. Such a different vibe than anywhere else I've worked. Extremely laid back, but still professional. A bit of wild-man energy ran through that place. Also the only boss I had that drove a hummer to work.

@AVARY He fired us off of Top Gun 2 but was such a gentleman about it (picked up the phone and said "Sorry boys, it's just not working out") that it made us love him even more. He is deeply missed.

@AVARY To this very moment, I thought that was done in post. And it was a hand crank.

@AVARY Ridley makes great cinema but Tony makes unforgettable MOVIES. Absolutely insane filmography when you actually look at it. I rewatched Domino recently and that movie is just so fucking bonkers there's literally nothing like it.

@AVARY Whenever Tony Scott comes up in a conversation, I always highlight The Last Boy Scout. Not because it's an amazing film, but because it reflects how a director must strive for success under the worst of circumstances/studio meddling, and somehow build a serviceable final cut.

@AVARY I loved his work. I remember watching this movie for the first on Cable, I still remember it. It's one of my favorites of his, and I personally never seen the original.

@AVARY I think if Tony had gotten the love he deserved for "The Hunger," his career would have gone quite differently. I think it broke his heart. And so he turned to violence.

@AVARY The Hunger is one of the best films I'vs seen. It is airtight and looks beautiful. For some reason most of his movies just went haywire in photography department, but the Hunger sticks out like a glaring exception. Wonder why.
