@jacobmparis I feel like you need to draw the line on this at some point. I often lose my place in the JSX if an inline click handler is more than 4 or 5 lines of code. You can usually infer what handleClick will do based on the element it's attached to.

@outoilkka @housecor Yeah, Ramda is great if you want to forget what your code is doing 6 months after writing it.

I try not to, but accessing nested properties is something I usually use Lodash (fp) for. Not sure if it is the best option. I have horrible nightmares of Ramda. I'm sure it is a solid library but long ago I was thrown in the deep end of a largish React codebase that was 80% Ramda. At the time I was quite new to a lot of the concepts it implements. We did eventually refactor it away with native utilities where possible.

Ignore the hardcore book fans online who claim the showrunners have "massacred" the 1950s sacred text 😂 It's really good - well paced, fun world building, the main character in the books is a maths equation, so they've done a great job adapting it. (from a hardcore book fan AND maths nerd)

@themarkdrake @armandrego @ThePrimeagen @rustlang I didn't have a specific use case in mind. I just want to expand my horizons. I learned Go a while back and really enjoyed the experience. I imagine I'll find some good uses for a lang like Zig once I start messing around with it.

@brian_d_vaughn Ditto. Considering it also tends to get used everywhere for event handlers. Just use "err" and "evt"/"event" people.

@bitandbang NY or some other vibrant city in US (I've heard Portland and Austin are great). I guess that's because I can't move there (immigration), so the grass looks greener on the other side of the ocean
