@jacobmparis I feel like you need to draw the line on this at some point. I often lose my place in the JSX if an inline click handler is more than 4 or 5 lines of code. You can usually infer what handleClick will do based on the element it's attached to.

@outoilkka @housecor Yeah, Ramda is great if you want to forget what your code is doing 6 months after writing it.
English

I try not to, but accessing nested properties is something I usually use Lodash (fp) for. Not sure if it is the best option.
I have horrible nightmares of Ramda. I'm sure it is a solid library but long ago I was thrown in the deep end of a largish React codebase that was 80% Ramda. At the time I was quite new to a lot of the concepts it implements.
We did eventually refactor it away with native utilities where possible.

@HCBlanchard @juanbuis @mrbiscuit Totally agree. Foundation is soooooooooo good! Every time I get a AppleTV+ notification saying there's a new episode available, I do a little dance
English

@themarkdrake @armandrego @ThePrimeagen @rustlang I didn't have a specific use case in mind. I just want to expand my horizons. I learned Go a while back and really enjoyed the experience. I imagine I'll find some good uses for a lang like Zig once I start messing around with it.

@joelhooks @mjackson +1000 for Tom Bihn. I have one that's over 5 years old and still looks brand new. The price is higher, but you get what you pay for.
English

@mjackson tom bihn is the gold standard if you want the "buy it once" quality with oodles of thoughtful utility
the synik is my fav

@AdamRackis I remember seeing a post a while back that described ska as "what plays in a 13-year old kid's head when he gets extra mozzarella sticks" 😆
English

@ThePrimeagen It’s cool man JavaScript is way faster anyway

@kyleshevlin As a former electrician that spent a lot of time around much better electricians, I completely agree.
English

@swlkr @likewhoaxyz @stephsmithio Right!? I'm enthusiastic about assessing the pros and cons of an approach and tempering expectations so I don't waste money or time. I guess that comes off as being jaded?
English

@brian_d_vaughn Ditto. Considering it also tends to get used everywhere for event handlers. Just use "err" and "evt"/"event" people.

@gregorywitek @bitandbang I’m in Portland and I want to live in Amsterdam. Maybe we actually have the same grass!
English

@bitandbang NY or some other vibrant city in US (I've heard Portland and Austin are great). I guess that's because I can't move there (immigration), so the grass looks greener on the other side of the ocean
English

@CDCgov Thanks for the heads up but we just lost the last Golden Girl and I’m going through a lot right now.
