Imagine living in a country where speaking freely can cost you your #freedom or your life. Where elections don’t exist. Where the future is controlled, not chosen. This is everyday reality in #Eritrea under Isaias Afwerki. Now imagine the #USA responded with handshakes instead of action. #Eritreans are not asking for sympathy, we are demanding solidarity and change. #Eritrea #Freedom #HumanRights #EBRF #Justice #StandWithEritrea #RegimeChangeInEritrea #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #Eritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror @POTUS @WSJ @MarioNawfal @BeyeneGerezghe1 @CmaDawit @BereketKahsai1 @EGerasouli35992 @BradSherman @darrell @KjetilTronvoll @TiborPNagyJr @martinplaut @mrubin1971 @SenateForeign @washingtonpost @senatorscarr @SenAdamSchiff @SenatorDurbin @tedcruz @DrJPPham @SenJeffMerkley @DrChTouati @UN_HRC @UN @hrw @amnesty @Habtishgreat @IntlCrimCourt @washingtonpost @BBC @AJEnglish @_AfricanUnion @afric_insde

For decades, #PFDJ has run Eritrea in isolation without functioning markets, investor confidence, or political legitimacy. The result is a country pushed toward the edge of state failure, both economically and politically. Even strategic assets like the ports of Massawa and Assab have been underutilized, not because they lack value, but because the system has failed to create an environment for trade, investment, and regional cooperation. That’s why meaningful international partnerships remain limited. No country can build sustainable deals with a system that lacks transparency, rule of law, and accountable institutions. Eritrea’s future depends on rebuilding governance, restoring trust, and opening the economy. The #EBRF offers a path focused on rule of law, democratic transition, peace, justice , and inclusive national renewal. #RegimeChangeInEritrea #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #Eritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror @realDonaldTrump @KjetilTronvoll @BeyeneGerezghe1 @BereketKahsai1 @CmaDawit @AsfahawolduK @AbiyAhmedAli @reda_getachew @EGerasouli35992 @martinplaut @mrubin1971 @SpeakerJohnson @JDVance

No country can make a deal with Eritrea because it has nothing to offer. In a world that's transactional & not ideological, economically-locked countries crumble. The sad truth is that, Egypt, which put Eritrea in its conundrum, knew Eritrea's fate, & still chose to sacrifice it.

@_hudsonc, it is great that you are coming around to realize who you should engage Representing the Eritrean regime comes with great reputational hazards; it is time to realize that putting lipstick on the Eritrean regime lead to dead ends Stability's cornerstone is good governance; a government that can sustain its population can be a reliable ally The Eritrean Regime turned Eritrea into an open-air prison; facade of the tight grip will collapse sooner than later Whoever supports this Regime will be on the wrong side of history #EBRF is the viable alternative to democratize Eritrea and turn it into a productive, cooperative country @BeyeneGerezghe1 @BereketKahsai1
Institute of Foreign Affairs - IFA@ifa_ethiopia

The Institute of Foreign Affairs (@ifa_ethiopia) hosted Mr. Cameron Hudson, where discussions focused on evolving U.S. engagement in the Greater Horn of Africa and the broader geopolitical dynamics of the Red Sea region. Key points highlighted: 📷Strategic recalibration in the Red Sea The United States is exploring a potential reset in its relations with the Horn of Africa as part of a broader effort to remain engaged in a strategically vital and increasingly dynamic region. 📷Security and maritime priorities Heightened attention to Red Sea security and the protection of key maritime routes such as the Bab al-Mandeb is shaping current policy considerations. 📷Diplomatic engagement and dialogue Preliminary engagements, including discussions facilitated by regional actors, highlight the importance of dialogue in addressing complex regional challenges. 📷Balancing strategy and stability The discussion emphasized the need for a careful, balanced approach that aligns strategic interests with long-term regional stability and constructive engagement. 📷Navigating a competitive geopolitical space With multiple actors active in the region, maintaining effective and coherent engagement remains essential for sustaining influence and promoting cooperation. 📷Importance of clear and forward-looking policy Thoughtful, well-calibrated policies are key to ensuring that engagement contributes positively to peace, stability, and mutual understanding in the Horn of Africa. #Ethiopia #Horn #RedSea #Diplomacy #IFA

Eritrea’s regime extracts 2% from its diaspora worldwide this is not a tax, it’s coercion. Those who refuse face intimidation and pressure. This is transnational repression. It’s time for accountability and political change in Eritrea. #RegimeChangeInEritrea #EBRF @mrubin1971

The “North Korea of Africa” label fits #Eritrea perfectly: indefinite national service that destroys young lives, total lockdown with no free press or opposition, and a one-man rule that has lasted decades without a single election. Now Trump’s administration wants to ease sanctions for access to the Bab al-Mandeb chokepoint amid Houthi and Iranian threats? This strategy-over-human-rights approach is dangerous. Lifting pressure on Isaias Afwerki’s criminal regime won’t secure shipping lanes long-term it will legitimize a pariah state that exports instability, harasses its diaspora worldwide, and has zero regard for international norms. America’s real interest lies in backing democratic forces and the Eritrean people’s demand for regime change, not in propping up a fortress dictatorship that treats its population like disposable labor for the ruling party. The #BlueRevolution represents the future of #Eritrea, not endless #PFDJ terror. Strategic pragmatism must not mean abandoning principles or ignoring the root cause of the region’s problems. #EBRF #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #RegimeChangeInEritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror @BeyeneGerezghe1 @CmaDawit @BereketKahsai1 @EGerasouli35992 @BradSherman @darrell @KjetilTronvoll @TiborPNagyJr @martinplaut @mrubin1971 @SenateForeign @washingtonpost @senatorscarr @SenAdamSchiff @SenatorDurbin @tedcruz @DrJPPham @SenJeffMerkley @DrChTouati @UN_HRC @UN @hrw @amnesty @IntlCrimCourt @washingtonpost @BBC @AJEnglish @_AfricanUnion @afric_insde

🇺🇸🇪🇷 Trump's team is pushing to lift sanctions on Eritrea. the 'North Korea of Africa, ' famous for endless forced military service, zero elections, and locking down its people like a fortress. Why now? It controls 700+ miles of prime Red Sea coastline right next to the Bab al-Mandeb chokepoint. With Iran & Houthis threatening to shut shipping lanes, strategy > human rights lectures... at least for Trump. Source: @WSJ

Aligning with the PFDJ under the guise of Red Sea stability is a strategic fallacy. Lifting sanctions on one of the world's most repressive regimes doesn't secure a region; it subsidizes a tyrant who survives on #TransnationalRepression and state-sponsored fear. Washington must prioritize a policy that empowers the Eritrean people over a dictatorship that has turned a nation into an open-air prison." #EBRF #RegimeChangeInEritrea #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #Eritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror @BeyeneGerezghe1 @BereketKahsai1 @CmaDawit @AsfahawolduK @AbiyAhmedAli @reda_getachew @EGerasouli35992 @TiborPNagyJr @SenateForeign @StateDept @martinplaut @mvreisen @mrubin1971 @washingtonpost @AJEnglish @hrw @realDonaldTrump @BeyeneGerezghe1 @BereketKahsai1 @CmaDawit @AsfahawolduK @AbiyAhmedAli @reda_getachew @EGerasouli35992 @TiborPNagyJr @SenateForeign @StateDept @martinplaut @mvreisen @mrubin1971 @washingtonpost @AJEnglish @hrw

🚨 As I have been predicting for weeks, Washington has jumped into the hornets nest of Red Sea politics, holding secret meetings with Isaias in Cairo in a bid to increase its influence in the region by lifting sanctions on Eritrea. What will Eritrea do in return? How will Addis react? What does this mean for Trump's promise to restart GERD talks? How will this a US-Eritrea rapprochement affect the SAF and Sudan's war? And what will UAE and Saudi make of the US effort to enter Red Sea political debates, seemingly aligning itself against Ethiopia? Too many questions to answer. But what I can say is that the US is doing it all without a strategy with a used truck salesman at the helm. What could possibly go wrong?? wsj.com/world/africa/u…
