During the first airing of my Star Trek series where a kiss was objectionable; many southern stations pulled the episode & condemned the show. Using today’s vernacular it would absolutely be called“woke DEI crap”because it went against “norms” of society for its time. Not a lot seems to have changed.🤷🏼😑

especially with Jack Crusher on the bridge…and not do what Frakes was suggesting/joking about…Riker having a sort of Charlie (Charlie’s Angels) type of role or the free for all with Kestra suddenly at the Academy too

@No1_AuntieMac @fatalfirestar @preciousStamets But Terry Matalas was hired under Kurtzman, his connection to the Berman era notwithstanding. I think the Legacy idea would need to be tweaked. Would prefer United if we are going for nostalgia, as Sussman was one of my fav late berman era writers.

The #StarfleetAcademy thing has me disliking the streaming model even more. So tired of streamers giving up on shows after only one or two seasons of only 10 episodes each.
Miss the days when genre shows could be on broadcast, 22 episode seasons, and last for years. Sigh.

Season 3 is too early but Tom Welling refused to wear the suit even in the Series Finale, feeling they hadn’t ‘earned it’…when the series was about his journey to becoming Superman…those 10 seasons was earning it. Not in the 1st act but when Jonathan hands him the suit.

i agree with tom on this one. it wouldn’t make any sense because clark was only 16 or 17 in season 3 why the hell would he need to put on the suit anytime soon. in the majority of superman adaptations he doesn’t until his mid to late 20s

@AaronRAshmore @tayahub @aerislois respectfully, the plotline that jimmy olsen wasn’t actually jimmy olsen but henry olsen, only for his younger, identical, brother to assume the role of real jimmy olsen whilst nobody in their lives batted an eye at how weird and traumatic that would be was pretty crazy 😵💫

This screenshot from #StarTrekTNG's "The Mind's Eye" shows that the LCARS display of Troi's bridge console is attached with screws. In later seasons, these screws are usually hidden under (or replaces by) black tape.

@HaPi76 @MandoWookie @archaicf0ssil Season 3 was a vast improvement even. Mike Sussman (who proposed the United series idea) & Phyllis Strong did some great episodes…they even made the Borg work despite the eye-rolling notion of bringing in them then.
