I had the privilege of spending time and breaking the fast with my brother, @ProfIsaPantami. Moments like this remind one of the enduring bonds of friendship, conviction, and shared purpose. I continue to admire his deep dedication to the ideals of our former President, Malam @MBuhari. Each time he speaks about the man he knew at close quarters, his emotion is unmistakable his eyes still well up as he reflects on the values, discipline, and essence of that leadership. It was also a pleasure sharing the evening with Ambassador-designate @realFFK and other friends. What stood out clearly in our conversations was a shared conviction: we all deeply love Nigeria. Beyond the breaking of fast, we are strengthening relationships and building bridges that can carry this country forward in unity, understanding, and common purpose. They were girls who went to school to learn, with hopes and dreams for their future. Today, their lives were brutally cut short. I am heartbroken and appalled by the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, including reports that a girls’ school in southern Iran was hit, resulting in the injury and death of many girls. The killing of civilians, especially children, is unconscionable, and I condemn it unequivocally. My heart is with the children, families and communities affected by escalation across the region. I stand firmly against violence and the targeting of schools and civilians. I call for the escalation of violence across the region to end. Justice and accountability must follow. All states and parties must uphold their obligations under international law to protect civilians and safeguard schools. Every child deserves to live and learn in peace.

In Rann, Borno State, children are returning to safer, more dignified learning spaces. With support from @EduCannotWait, @CataiCenter renovated classrooms & handed over latrines & a borehole, because quality education means safe spaces, sanitation, & clean water for every child.

As you skip this video, remember, The Uromi massacre of northerners is not an isolated attack. It is the result of unpunished atrocities on northerners: > In 2018, Major General Idris Alƙali was abducted and killed in Jos, his body buried in a shallow grave simply because he was a Muslim traveler. > In 2021, more than 20 Muslim travelers returning from an Islamic program in Bauchi were ambushed and slaughtered in Jos. Their killers still face no consequences. > Later in 2021, Northern traders were intercepted and executed in Imo State, without a single arrest made. > In 2022, over 20 Fulani traders were viciously murdered in Anambra State, their remains desecrated. > In 2023, dozens of Northern travelers were lynched on highways in the South-East, and once again, the response was inaction. Each incident follows the same pattern: our people are murdered, the government answers with empty statements while those responsible remain free. This ongoing failure is unacceptable, Northerners are not barbecue meat, we refuse to ignore it any longer.
