Powered by compute from @akashnet , our Indiana University ambassadors built and shipped two winning projects at the USC Blockchain Conference Avalanche Track Winner: AgentHire — AI agent marketplace with on-chain identity + escrow-backed coordination GitHub: github.com/shalinpatel36/… Solana Track Winner: Senthos — decentralized prediction market platform GitHub: github.com/tharune/senthos

Our Cornell @akashstudents just published real results on backdoor attack resistance in decentralized training all run on @akashnet compute. The key finding: a model can benchmark perfectly while quietly learning attacker behavior. This is CIA spy stuff for AI: Full writeup 👇

The current class of @AkashStudents are 🔥. They make content that hits, win hackathons using @akashnet as their infra, and showcase how $AKT brings value to the future builders of tomorrow on campuses all across the US & abroad. The next gen are being drafted now. Lean in.

@rachelt313 is thinking about this the right way, AI infra decisions are becoming workload-specific, not one-size-fits-all. Read her full Substack below

i've had this @Razer mouse since ninth grade. i'm now a sophomore in college. i've never thought of it as anything beyond just... a mouse. that i'd use to play cod instead of studying.. but recent moves in the @akashnet world have made me rethink👀 ⬇️⬇️

@rachelt313 Love how you connected this, the workload point is 🔑 Feels like we’re going to see a lot more of this hybrid model emerge

It was amazing organizing the conference and this year's conference has become one of my favorite memories of college.
Cornell Blockchain@CUBlockchain

"The Programmable Economy: AI & Blockchain Redefining Markets" was a runaway success in NYC. New York City's best frontier tech conference saw 90+ speakers, 1,000+ attendees, and 70 @Cornell undergrads come together at @cornell_tech in NYC last Friday to consider how innovation is transforming Wall Street, the tech industry, security, healthcare, start-ups, the economy, and daily life. We heard from leading global executives and builders from @MorganStanley, @RobinhoodApp, @NYSE, @Zelle/ EarlyWarning, @jpmorgan, @Citi, @EYnews, @coinbase, @RBC, @PayPal, @FTI_US, @FinancialTimes, @Mastercard, @WeillCornell , @Visa, @notablecap, and @harvey, as well as prominent blockchain executives and a dozen AI start-up founders. Full agenda details and speaker bios available at the conference website: aiblockchaincornelltech.org Cornell Blockchain's organizer team (@hrishabhayush, @bbriaaaans, @rachelt313, Paula Hirsch, @caedy_13) want to thank our co-hosts, @CTBlockchainNYC , @theBBFund, and Cornell Tech AI Society, as well as the 2026 Host & Organizing Committees, and our committed sponsor-partners: @Google, @EYnews, @DSAForg, @moonpay, @Optimism Foundation, Avax One, @AvaLabs, @cbz, @Mantle_Official, @1inch, @initc3org, @Ripple, @cryptio_co , @zerohashx, @thisisarculus, @ChainOpera_AI, @LEK_Consulting , @SolanaFndn, @akashnet, @Auros_global, @LCVentures, @palliora, @Supernet_AI, and @BlockRunAI. We are proud to have hosted academic delegations and students from across the country, the Northeast, and the NY Metropolitan Area, and offered tickets to students, researchers, professionals and founders at prices consistent with Cornell's mission of education. Look forward to many more opportunities to connect in 2026!

Had the most incredible few days as an organizer for the Cornell Blockchain Conference: "The Programmable Economy: AI & Blockchain Redefining Markets". A personal highlight was holding a fireside chat with @emilyRioFreeman (Bybit, Mantle, Byreal), where we discussed her transition from CEX infrastructure to building on-chain systems like Byreal, and what that shift shows about where market demand is heading. A key theme was that the real bottleneck in crypto is distribution rather than technology, specifically how to connect CEX liquidity with on-chain innovation through CedeFi models. Another theme many panelists discussed was the relationship between AI and blockchain. What became clear to me is that AI and blockchain are complementary layers, with AI being the dynamic and probabilistic layer for decision-making, and blockchain being the deterministic layer for trust and verification. Throughout many panels with speakers from Citi, Coinbase, Ripple, Franklin Templeton, and others, I noticed an emphasis on embedding digital assets into our existing financial infrastructure rather than treating them as a separate system. Tokenization was repeatedly referred to as becoming the "plumbing" of financial markets, while adoption challenges were framed more as distribution and usability issues rather than technical limitations. Already looking forward to next year's conference and seeing how these themes continue to evolve! Also the aerial tramway is super cool :))))

If you've ever killed a project because of cloud costs, the Akash Student Ambassador program is how you make sure the next CS student doesn't have to. Fall '26 ambassador applications are live May 1.

Every student who's rationed cloud credits or scoped down a project to fit a free tier knows this feeling. @rachelt313 breaks down why the cost of compute is the silent barrier to student experimentation, and what a different default could look like. Check out her full thread.
Rachel Turney@rachelt313

so i started thinking more about this from a student perspective what would it look like if compute wasn’t something universities had to pre-pay for... but more like a market you could just tap into when you need it?
