Nope. The Senate passed a bill to fund EVERYTHING except ICE, who already HAVE funding. They passed it UNANIMOUSLY. Take this up with Mike Johnson who refused to bring the bill to the House floor for a vote.

Passed in the dead of night with 5 Senators with everyone else slinking out of town.
The House did the right thing. You clearly are not.

House Republican leadership had a unanimous, bipartisan deal to fund TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard sitting right in front of them.
They threw it in the trash, and forced through a bill that prolongs this shutdown, is dead in the Senate, and hands even more money to ICE and CBP with zero accountability and zero reforms.
Working through the night, every Senate Republican and every Senate Democrat came together and passed that deal. Unanimously. Speaker Johnson looked at it yesterday morning, called it “a joke,” and killed it.
Democrats have voted to pay TSA workers more than THIRTEEN times. We have never been the problem.

Would be more accurate for NYT to say House GOP rejected Senate bill that left ICE & CBP unfunded, passed rival bill
Why does the distinction matter? Ending the shutdown on this “deal” would come at the expense of ICE & CBP civilian support staff, who are still not being paid - despite the frontline law enforcement officers being funded thru 2029 under OBBB.
Staff would have been permanently locked out under the Senate deal, unless/until R’s can pass a second reconciliation bill. Which looks like a loooong uphill battle.

I’m fully aware that this job requires tons of travel and crazy hours, but it does indeed bug me that I’m here in DC at 11:30pm voting (for the 4th time!) to fully fund the Homeland budget and missing my kids hoops game tomorrow morning back in Washington because the Senate pulled their BS stunt last night. 🇺🇸
