@MikePMoffatt Kids are growing up slower this generation. Marriage, parenthood. Is it all financial? I don’t believe 100% so. I have a 24 and 21 year old. They are much more tied to the family than I was at their age. This is not uncommon from my friends with similar dynamics.

It's funny, I get a *lot* of pushback when I publish homeownership rates for 25-29 year olds, with folks saying "people that young should not expect to own homes". It wasn't that long ago that it was relatively common!

As some of you know, my dad has been fighting lung cancer for the past 2 years. If any of you have any experience with the medical system, you know that the family/patient have to be aggressive advocates. Doctors have a lot of patients and, as much as I’m sure they’d like to, don’t have infinite time. It’s been pretty amazing to see how AI has enabled my mom to be an advocate by translating medical terminology and explaining complex issues. Definitely makes things a lot easier and has made the entire process more manageable. Whenever we get a new test result, she puts it into chat GPT or Claude and (especially now that it has memory) it updates her on what’s going on. Incredibly helpful and really has maximized the communication with his team.

Prior to federal reserve and going off what some people mistakenly call the “gold standard” there was very frequent and pronounced recessions and enormous surges in inflation (I’ll let @dandolfa discuss this in more detail if you have questions) And so on and so on. Our kids have it made. My first mortgage was almost 10%, I had to put down 20% and it was fixed rate! We didn’t start getting opp to swap out mortgages until mid/late 90s
