With the White House Correspondents Association declaring Donald Trump an “honoree” at tonight’s dinner, I declined an organization’s invitation to attend. The sane washing of Trump and his war on the press is dangerous. And the WHCA is an absolute disgrace. #WHCD

They’ll say you’re exploited for applying and/or agreeing to a job or a purchase, redefining it to mean ‘not getting what they want. But not exploited when the state takes your earnings and decides how to use them absent any consideration for your consent. You're just losers obsessively throwing any shit at the wall hoping something sticks that will get you free stuff stolen from someone else. Socialism is exploitation on steroids.

@neontaster This is pure rationalization to support your TDS. The logical, obvious and true reason for Iran’s conduct is a desire to save a semblance of face in their catastrophic defeat at the hands of their arch enemies

Trump's obsessive desire to reach any sort of deal and call it a victory is running headfirst into the islamofascist inability to take a win if it involves some public image of compromise or capitulation.

the 10:1 thing is funny because the lowest amount any CEO could be on is like £250,000 a year which yes is an obscene amount of money for anyone, so everyone should get a fucking grip about it as a policy

Seen a different post with titling saying pictures with the two great QB in college history or longhorn history. I’d agree with both about @VinceYoung10 in my opinion he is greatest in college football history and longhorn history. Manning hasn’t even come close yet to Young’s career.

Mamdani’s city-owned grocery store: - Won’t open until 2029 - Will cost taxpayers $30 million (triple what is costs to open a normal store) - Will only have discounted prices for a very basic selection of food. All of that is best case currently. Good luck, NYC.

Justice Jackson's concurrence in the judgment is short by her standards — less than 60% of the length of the main opinion. Her main point is that the Court's "fundamental task" is to give effect to Congress' intent, and she looks largely to legislative history for that (as opposed to saying that Congress' intent is shown by the language it actually adopted). Scalia would be rolling over in his grave if this were in the majority, but he might be chuckling a little today to see it in a lone dissent.

🚨 Just In: The Supreme Court ruled 8-0 in Chevron USA v. Plaquemines Parish, with Justice Thomas writing the majority opinion. Judge Oldham's dissent is vindicated. Yet another scheme by the climate lobby to weaponize the courts and forum-shop has been thwarted. Chevron will now get its day in court before a more neutral federal judge.

1. These people pay full boat property taxes while not using any city services. They subsidize everyone else and aren’t taking away housing from lower income folks. 2. Many developers count on selling the few ultra pricey condo units within a building in order to make the entire project pencil out. This could hinder future housing supply if it lowers demand for super high end units. 3. Just because someone has more money that you, doesn’t give you the right to take it.
Jill Filipovic@JillFilipovic

What exactly is the argument against a pied-a-terre tax for second (or third / fourth / fifth) homes worth more than $5 million owned by people who do not even live in the city? It just seems like such a glaringly obvious common-sense policy.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: We spent trillions of dollars in NATO, but when I asked them to get involved in a smaller situation, they weren’t there for us. None of them. I don’t think NATO would be there for us in a larger skirmish, and therefore I think they’ve got themselves a problem.

@eslo_dev It's terrible. The Strait of Hormuz is massively wide compared to the Danish Straits. You can easily blockade Russia, but you have to be willing to put up with lots of threats from Putin, so it will take courage. That is lacking unfortunately...

As a European, I hang my head in shame. The US has shown that if you blockade an oil exporter, they fold quickly. Europe can do this to Russia and shut down oil tanker traffic out of the Baltic. But it doesn't. Innocent Ukrainians pay the price every day. robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-baltic-c…

Under international law, transit through waterways like the Strait of Hormuz must remain open and free of charge. This is what leaders made clear in their call on reopening the Strait today. Any pay-for-passage scheme will set a dangerous precedent for global maritime routes. Iran has to abandon any plan to levy transit fees. Europe will play its part in restoring the free flow of energy and trade, once a ceasefire takes hold. The EU’s Aspides naval mission is already operating in the Red Sea and can be quickly strengthened to protect shipping across the region. This could be the fastest way to provide support.
