A load of cassava like this is selling for just 45k in my area as of today, 9th May. Now let me break something down as a farmer. 1000 Cassava heaps will give you a load like this To get about 1000 good heaps of cassava with healthy stems, this is what it takes: Clearing the land — 6k Making the heaps — 9k Planting — 5k Weed control twice with herbicide before harvest — 5k Harvesting after one year plus — 7k Transportation to the market — 7k Now calculate everything together… and after over one year of waiting, stress, sweat, and patience, the highest you may sell that cassava for is 50k. And mind you, I never added the value of your time, energy, sleepless days, and the risk farmers take every season. Farming is not as easy as many people think. A.D Farms

Imagine needing to spread your front legs wide apart, just to drink water. That’s the kind of life a giraffe lives. Everything about this animal is built differently. Interesting facts about Giraffes • Despite their extremely long necks, giraffes have only seven neck bones — the same number humans have • Each of those bones is just much longer and specially adapted • A giraffe’s heart can weigh around 11 kg because it has to pump blood all the way up that long neck • Their blood pressure is extremely high to make this possible • Special valves in their blood vessels help stop too much blood from rushing to the brain when they bend down to drink • Giraffes have dark-colored tongues that can grow up to about 45 cm long • That long tongue helps them grab leaves and protects against sunburn while feeding • They can clean their own ears with their tongue • Giraffes need to spread their legs awkwardly to reach water because of their height • They can run surprisingly fast despite looking slow and gentle • Their spots are unique, just like fingerprints • Baby giraffes can stand and walk not long after birth • They sleep very little compared to many animals • Their long legs can deliver powerful kicks strong enough to defend against predators Hope you've learnt something new and interesting about giraffes today?

You free Islamists (who slaughter innocents and rape women) in the name of rehabilitating and reintegrating them; yet, the likes of Victor Solomon (aka Zidane), a victim of their attack, whose only crime is resisting the Islamists militia attack on his Christian community of Kajuru, is sentenced to death. @ubasanius @NewsCentralTV @TRobinsonNewEra @RepRileyMoore @ChristianEmerg1 @SKefason @FSYusuff @StateDept @FoxNews

@ArcSadam So Mena was the one actually sending the parcel? The initial narrative was as if he was receiving a parcel from someone, leaving doubt as to whether he knows what is in the parcel or not.

POLICE K!LL!NG IN DELTA: Mena's mother should stop shedding crocodile tears because she raised dysfunctional sons. Mena's younger brother was kpaied by the police for serial armed robbery. Mena's younger brother was a well known armed robber who was going in and out of prison. It's alleged that he even shot dead a mobile police officer which incensed the police to kpai him. Mine the gun runner went with a friend to the park and lied that it was baby things he was sending. When they checked they saw baby things and the pistol. His friend escaped. Every kidnapping, assassination and armed robbery in Delta was made possible by people like Mena who are into gun running. The police officer who unalived the gun runner is facing the music already. I'm not defending him but looking at "cause and effect". If Mena hadn't engaged in gun running he would be alive today. Source: Ufuoma Bernard, Founder GODISM.✍️

One thing I know about Salamọ́ (weaver ants) while I was in the village is that, they don't attack humans being. They attack pest aggressively even more than attacking humans. It was in one of your class I learn about the chemistry leave and weaver ants. I still watched that your video two days ago where you explained why Yorùbá particularly put leaves for their mouths anytime they want to climb a tree weaver ants dominated. I also know from village that they contribute to soil fertility because most of the leaves they use to built houses drop at some point and decay with soil to form composite soil which is rich for planting. Thank you 🙏

As a farmer, you should be glad if you have these ants on your fruit tree. They're called Weaver ants and they'll reduce the amount of money you'll spend on pesticide by more than 60%. Not only would you save, your fruits will be free of pesticide touch. In fact, in some countries, they deliberately bring the ants to a tree that doesn't have it. You're welcome.

So this man walked into the shop this afternoon. The way he was moving from one counter to another, picking sachet seeds, you could tell he had already planned his farming life in his head. Me too, I was happy. I said, “Better customer don land.” He picked varieties of pepper, tomato and cucumber just selecting them with confidence. So I asked him, “Oga, what are you looking for?” He smiled. “I Wan to plant these seeds, Just small small things behind my house. Just something wey me and my family go dey eat.” I said, “Okay… but these seeds no be that kind seed wey you just throw for ground like that o.” He looked at me… not really getting it. I tried to break it down. “These ones na improved seeds. E get how you go take plant am. Some you go start for nursery, some need better soil preparation. No be like those local ones wey you fit just plant anyhow.” He nodded, but I could tell he wasn’t convinced. For his mind, seed na seed. We kept talking. Then he asked, “How much be all these ones?” I started calling the prices. “This one, 12,000… this one, 15,000…” I was already watching his face change small small. Then I mentioned one. “25,000.” Omo. The man no even allow me finish. “Ahhh! Wetin be this chairman ?!” he burst out. “For something wey I wan just plant for house? My budget no pass ₦5000 o!” I just looked at him. At that moment, everything I explained earlier started making sense to him but the hard way. He stood there for like two seconds, shook his head, then gently dropped the seeds. No argument. No extra talk. He just turned and walked out fast. Didn’t even look back. I took the seeds back, and just laughed small. But honestly, I felt for him… the same way I feel for myself and many farmers. Because truth be say, the cost of inputs now is a real problem. It’s discouraging people that genuinely want to farm. That man came prepared. But he left like someone that just escaped a mistake.

@UgoAgro_ Handling fragile plants doesn’t automatically translate into plantation success. Many successful plantation investors never touched vegetables they hired expertise. Often time I recommend Agroforestry. Planting plantation crops with short term crops...
